  • At least 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience within energy, infrastructure, or comparable technical projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of electrical engineering infrastructure and energy grids.
  • Experience with technical and planning feasibility studies.

  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of primary technology is a plus.
  • Experience with Safety & Health coordination within design and construction projects is a plus.

The role

The energy transition demands smart, decisive professionals. In the North Prepare Team, we work daily on the development and preparation of expansions of the high-voltage grid in the Northern Netherlands, so that the Netherlands can also rely on a reliable electricity grid tomorrow. Will you contribute to this as a Project Developer?

As a Project Developer, you are responsible for the further development and preparation of complex grid expansion projects, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy.

What you'll do

  • You work multidisciplinarily with, among others, Functional Design Developers, Portfolio Managers, Project Leaders, and other specialists to further elaborate project tasks, concretize the project scope, and realize consistent project solutions, so that projects are feasible, constructible, and future-proof.
  • You analyze technical, planning, and system-content issues and further elaborate feasibility studies within established search areas, so that substantiated choices can be made for stations and connection routes.
  • You develop and monitor the coherence between projects, policy frameworks, requirements programs, standards, specifications, and portfolio objectives, so that project results align with the long-term development of the electricity grid.
  • You fulfill a connecting role between project teams, disciplines, and internal and external stakeholders, weighing conflicting interests and organizing alignment, so that decision-making and project progress are supported.
  • You organize and stimulate integral cooperation during the construction and commissioning phase by making dependencies, bottlenecks, and chain priorities visible and keeping them discussable, so that lead times are shortened and collective results are realized.
  • You coordinate safety, quality, compliance, and risk management within complex infrastructure projects, oversee compliance with laws and regulations, standards, and best practices, and advise stakeholders from your expertise, so that safe and high-quality project results are realized.

How you'll work

Hybrid working is the norm for us. You will get the opportunity to work from home. We also value meeting each other personally at the office. For this, your base location is Hoogeveen, where you will meet on average 2x per week. You will also occasionally work from one of our project locations. Therefore, your workplace may vary.

TenneT values

At TenneT, we let our work be guided by behaviors that stem from our three values: Ownership, Courage, and Connection.

  • Ownership means doing what matters for collective success, because results lie in actions, not in words.
  • Courage means showing guts to move forward, because acceleration requires courage, not perfection.
  • Connection means strengthening each other for more results, because true collaboration turns potential into performance.

These behaviors help us to build an organization that works smarter and delivers more every day, for our customers and for each other.

At TenneT, much attention is paid to diversity and inclusivity. By working together with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, we get better ideas, work more safely, and everyone feels they belong.

  • Salary in scale 9: €4.86,00 - €9.472,00 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance and 6% year-end bonus (in accordance with the CAO TSO).
  • A solid pension via ABP, in which we pay no less than 70% of your pension premium.
  • 43 vacation days per year.

All mentioned employment conditions apply to full-time employment, unless stated otherwise.

We attach great value to a good work-life balance and your personal development. Therefore, we offer flexible solutions such as:

We stimulate initiative and give you the space to come up with new ideas. Together, we ensure that the Netherlands stays in motion and is ready for the energy of tomorrow.
