Dutch
The ad asks for Dutch, or counts it in your favour.
This job advert was originally written in Dutch.
You have completed a higher professional education (hbo) in the field of energy technology, mechanical engineering, or a similar technical education, supplemented with 3 to 5 years of experience with complex technical installations, and you have excellent command of the Dutch language and can speak, read, and write it fluently.
You are willing to continuously develop yourself, for example through additional training such as Low Voltage Design Expert. Knowledge of Irene, GAIA, and Vision is a plus.
Design the electricity or gas grid of the future and make a direct contribution to the energy transition. As an Engineer, you will work on complex issues surrounding grid capacity, feed-in, gas, and sustainable energy. In doing so, you will be given plenty of room for your own insight, technical depth, and collaboration with various disciplines.
Due to the energy transition, more work is coming our way than ever before. We are driving electric more often, generating our own energy, feeding energy back into the grid, and switching to sustainable alternatives for gas. Plenty to do, therefore, for our Engineers.
You will translate what our customers need into a technical design. You calculate which grid cables or gas pipelines are required, determine where technicians can lay them, where transformer stations should be located, and how the route proceeds.
No matter how complex the project is, you strive for the technically best solution at the lowest possible cost. To achieve this, you continuously coordinate with project managers, customer advisors, and other involved parties. You also take unexpected factors into account, such as protected species, asbestos, archaeological finds, or existing cables/pipes. Whatever comes your way, you advise on the possibilities and provide insight into the associated costs.
You contribute directly to the electricity and gas grid of the future.
In addition to salary and vacation days, you will receive an extra personal budget.
Thanks to hybrid working and flexible working hours, you can easily align your work with your private life.
After starting your workday and answering important emails, you get to work on various projects. Thanks to hybrid working, you do this alternatingly from home and from the office.
You perform technical calculations and analyses so that projects can be carried out safely and carefully. One time you are designing a connection for a charging station, the next time you are working on a connection for energy feed-in. Many requests come in via mijnaansluiting.nl.
Weekly, you consult with your team on location. Here, you share knowledge, discuss your projects, and work together with various stakeholders.
At the end of the day, you wrap up ongoing activities and make a plan for the next day.
In short, the work of an Engineer E+G is varied and challenging. Every day you work on technical solutions for a rapidly changing energy world. You are the technical spider in the web in this process.
All employment conditions clearly listed, so you know where you stand:
A gross monthly salary between € 4548,- and € 6331,-, depending on your knowledge and experience.
On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24%, including 8% holiday allowance. You choose what to do with this budget, for example, extra salary or extra vacation days.
An annual € 700,- gross to spend on your own energy, for example, for your gym membership or new sportswear.
Modern home-working facilities and a home-working allowance of € 2.40 per day. At Stedin, we work partly from home and partly from the office.
For travel to the office, you use the public transport exemption or the flexible travel scheme, where you choose how you travel.
Your development is central: training, education, and events with colleagues help you to get the best out of yourself.
With your analytical ability and technical insight, you know how to fathom complex issues. You work independently, but also actively seek collaboration. Colleagues experience you as serious and professional, but also as pleasant to work with.
You think creatively in solutions and know how to involve others in your ideas and technical choices. No matter how complicated a project is, you maintain an overview and work purposefully towards a suitable solution.
You feel at home in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, in which you solve technical issues both independently and together with colleagues.
Take the step to your next challenge
We look forward to meeting you.
To get a good impression of your motivation and suitability for this position, we ask you to include a motivation letter with your application.
You can apply until October 1, 2026. This means that you will hear more from us after this date. When we have found enough suitable candidates before that date, we may choose to close the vacancy earlier. The 1st interviews will take place in the week of October 12.
From your first working day, you will be part of the Engineer team within the Consumer department. The team consists of approximately ten Engineers and seven Detail Engineers.
You work together with both young professionals and colleagues with years of experience. Because of this, you learn a lot from each other and come together to find the best technical solutions. You will join an open and close-knit team in which colleagues are there for one another. We work flexibly from home and from our location in Delft.
