Senior Kubernetes Engineer

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience managing the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, including provisioning, upgrades, vertical and horizontal autoscaling, high availability solutions, container networking, security measures, and disaster recovery.
• Demonstrable experience managing Kubernetes in production environments within public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• You have experience working in AWS production environments, including IAM and RBAC, VPC and subnet architectures, multi-account AWS landscapes, and observability solutions for monitoring and performance insight.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Git, GitOps methodologies, and self-hosted CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with tools such as Karpenter, Cilium, Kyverno, or External Secrets Operator (ESO).
• Experience developing custom Kubernetes Operators.
• Practical experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting with Bash, Go, or Python.

As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will work closely with both your own team and the customer's engineers. You are responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining all of the customer's Kubernetes clusters running on Amazon EKS within DTAP environments (Development, Testing, Acceptance, and Production).

You ensure the stability, security, and scalability of these clusters, drive automation, support incident response, and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure and processes.

Responsibilities may vary depending on the project and the team's focus, but may include:

• Intensive collaboration with your team and the customer's engineering teams to ensure Kubernetes initiatives run smoothly.
• Management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS within all DTAP environments.
• Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the health, performance, and reliability of clusters, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
• Executing change management for Kubernetes clusters, such as upgrades, scaling, and configuration changes, in accordance with internal guidelines and best practices.
• Developing, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for the Kubernetes infrastructure using industry-standard tools.
• Automating recurring management tasks and operational processes via scripting or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation regarding cluster configurations, architectures, processes, and change history.
• Applying security best practices and ensuring clusters comply with internal standards and external regulations.
