The role

At Dalsem, we strive for a sustainable revolution in the greenhouse horticulture sector. Our state-of-the-art high-tech greenhouses are at the forefront of technological advancement and sustainability, fully developed by us with systems for air, water, light, heat, and CO2 management. With greenhouses averaging 20 hectares, we set new standards for scale and efficiency. The heart of our organization is our factory in Den Hoorn, where our headquarters is also located-a place where design begins and the final product is shipped out. Everything under one roof.

Since 2022, we have been part of Cofra's Sustainable Food Group, a family office with a long-term perspective. Our vision: to become the international market leader in sustainable greenhouses. To guide our future plans, we are expanding our team with an experienced Proposal Engineer.

What you'll do

As a Proposal Engineer at Dalsem, you play a crucial role in the sales and business development process. Your primary responsibility is to create convincing and detailed proposals in response to requests from potential clients. You analyze client needs, perform technical calculations, prepare cost estimates, and ensure that all proposals meet the set requirements and quality standards. You work closely with sales and engineering to develop the best technical and commercial solutions. You stand firm and are capable of discussing technical aspects with suppliers and internal teams.

- Analyzing client needs and sales offers: Understanding customer requirements, including reviewing technical specifications, project scopes, and other relevant documents.

- Technical calculations: Performing technical calculations for greenhouses and facilities using the Casta program, including calculations for greenhouse construction and shading installations.

- Cost estimation: Estimating the costs associated with the proposed solution, including material costs, labor costs, and all other project expenses.

- Document preparation: Writing and drafting proposals for greenhouse projects, ensuring they are clear, concise, and professional. The proposal includes technical details, project timelines, pricing, and other relevant information.

- Compliance: Ensuring that the proposal meets all requirements and checking that all necessary documentation and certifications are included.

- Quality assurance: Reviewing the proposal for accuracy and quality, checking for any errors or inconsistencies before submission.

- Client meetings: Participating in meetings or negotiations with clients to answer questions or provide additional information.

What Makes This Role Unique?

Working at Dalsem offers you the chance to engage in large, innovative projects where all disciplines within a high-tech greenhouse are developed in-house. Think of irrigation, climate control (heating/cooling), steel structures, screening systems, electrical installations, lighting, and more.

You'll have the opportunity to be part of projects with an international impact. We deliver projects worldwide and sometimes collaborate with local partners for complex solutions, such as connecting a high-tech greenhouse to the high-voltage grid in New Zealand. This means you'll work closely with the procurement and engineering departments, but also directly engage with local parties to discuss price estimates and technical details-exposing you to different cultures and markets.

At Dalsem, we offer plenty of opportunities for professional growth and development. We invest in our employees and provide a working environment where you can grow and develop yourself. You'll work on world-class projects and have a direct impact on the future of greenhouse technology.
