Senior Cloud Kubernetes Engineer

• HBO or WO working and thinking level and extensive hands-on experience with production environments on Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of on-premises Kubernetes clusters, Linux, and the infrastructure beneath the container platform.
• Demonstrable experience with Argo CD, Terraform, Vault, Rancher, and Helm.
• Experience with GitLab CI and/or Jenkins and designing reliable deployment and management processes.
• A DevOps mindset, strong analytical skills, and the drive to structurally automate manual work.
• You are communicative, proactive, and able to bring others along, guide them, and transfer knowledge.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call service.

Certifications and additional knowledge: A CKA and/or CKAD certification is a strong plus. Experience with Portworx, Pulumi, Azure, and observability tooling such as Elastic, Prometheus, and Grafana is also welcome.

As a Senior Cloud Kubernetes Engineer at Capgemini, you will build and manage a mission-critical on-premises container platform for an independent, cross-border operator of the national high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and a large part of Germany. You will combine deep Kubernetes knowledge with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and a strong DevOps mentality. With this, you will enable secure self-service and reliable platform services for diverse development teams.

In this role, you will work on:

• Developing, managing, and further professionalizing an on-premises Kubernetes platform and the underlying infrastructure.
• Automating provisioning, configuration, and deployments with Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, Vault, and Rancher.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and/or Jenkins, where Infrastructure as Code is the standard.
• Setting up secure, reusable platform building blocks that allow internal teams to deploy and manage applications independently.
• Performing upgrades, patches, troubleshooting, and structural improvements on Linux and container infrastructure.
• Collaborating with architects, security specialists, and DevOps teams to ensure quality, availability, and compliance.
• Participating in 24/7 support and translating incidents into sustainable improvements of the platform.

Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.
