Rotterdam | Complex movable structures | € 7,000 - € 10,000 gross per month
Do you want to provide technical leadership for the most complex movable structures in the Netherlands?
From our office next to Rotterdam Centraal, you will work on leading projects such as the Framework Agreement for Bridges and Viaducts, Van Brienenoordbrug, the Krammersluizen, or the Houtribsluizen. You will provide direction to design teams, mentor younger colleagues, and be substantively involved in technical issues that truly matter.
Not a large organization where you are one of many, but a compact and specialized team where you make a direct impact on projects, colleagues, and the further growth of SBE Netherlands.
As Design Lead Movable Structures , you are responsible for the technical management of multidisciplinary design teams.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
Leading design processes for movable bridges and lock gates
Managing and coaching engineers and modelers.
Monitoring the technical quality of designs.
Coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Making design choices and risk assessments.
Contributing to tenders and new project opportunities.
Further developing technical knowledge within the team.
You will remain substantively involved yourself. At SBE, a design lead does not sit on the sidelines, but actively participates in finding smart and technically high-quality solutions.
Do you want to work on the most complex movable structures in the Netherlands and contribute to the further growth of SBE Netherlands?
Then we would love to meet you.
SBE is one of the largest specialized consultancy and engineering firms in Belgium. Since 2020, we have been building a strong Dutch team from Rotterdam, which now consists of approximately 30 colleagues.
We consciously focus on technically complex projects within civil engineering and heavy civil infrastructure. Our specialists are called upon precisely when standard solutions are no longer sufficient.
Our Dutch projects include:
Van Brienenoordbrug
Koninginnensluis
Houtribsluizen
Krammersluizen (lock gates)
In the coming years, we want to further expand our Dutch team. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced Design Lead Movable Structures who wants to help build our projects, our people, and our organization.
We work exclusively on projects where specialist knowledge makes the difference. No standard work, but technical challenges that demand creativity and craftsmanship.
You are given the freedom to help shape projects, teams, and technical choices. Good ideas quickly find space here.
With approximately 30 colleagues in the Netherlands, the lines are short and the influence is great. You know everyone personally and see the direct results of your work.
You work together with experienced specialists and are given space to further develop yourself towards a technical specialist, project manager, or a leadership role.
We are a family business with an open culture, little hierarchy, and a lot of attention to collaboration. It is not for nothing that we are certified as a Great Place To Work.
