Senior Structural Engineer/ Designer - Concrete Structures

• HBO/WO working and thinking level (preferably civil engineering or building technology).
• At least 10 years of work experience with, and integral design knowledge of, civil engineering and concrete-related projects.
• Demonstrable experience with team coordination.
• Solid knowledge of structural safety and concrete structures.
• Broad overview of execution methodologies.
• Knowledge and experience in working within integrated contract forms such as UAV-gc and construction teams (monitoring requirements, verification, and validation).
• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines (EC-2, EC-3, and EC-7 + CUR guidelines).
• Knowledge of construction costs and the development of cost estimates.
• Knowledge of and experience with both FEM analyses (SCIA, FEM-Design), simpler 2D beam and frame calculations, as well as complex detailed calculations (IDEAStatiCa).
• Affinity with recent modeling and drafting techniques for management and recognition.

As a senior structural engineer/designer, you will work in multidisciplinary project teams on various
types of civil structures (bridges, tunnels, locks, foundations, etc.). You design the
structural design and dimension the structures. You do this in the various
phases of design; from preparation to planning and execution. Your activities
include:

• Aligning design principles with clients both inside and outside integrated contracts such as construction teams and UAV-gc.
• Designing the concrete structures required for the project.
• Identifying Opportunities and Risks.
• Advising clients and internal stakeholders on design choices and optimizations.
• Leading design teams of structural engineers and modelers/drafters.
• Planning, reporting, and monitoring project progress, quality, and budget.
• Producing the necessary notes including calculations.
• Supervising the correct application of modeling and drafting work.
• Coordinating the technical preparation of structures and other concrete constructions.
