Then the position of Product Support Engineer Automation at Royal IHC is for you.
In this versatile role, you are involved in the entire lifecycle of our in-house developed automation products: from engineering, configuration, and testing to training, service, commissioning, and product development. You manage a part of our automation portfolio and support both colleagues and customers in the application and further development of our systems.
You work closely with colleagues from various disciplines and grow into the go-to product specialist within your area of focus.
About the role
As Product Support Engineer Automation, you are responsible for a part of Royal IHC's automation portfolio. You support projects during the engineering phase, assist with integration issues, test new software versions, and support customers and colleagues in using our products.
Additionally, you advise on application possibilities for the products, translate user requirements into concrete improvements, and contribute to the further development of our portfolio. You have regular contact with colleagues from Engineering, Service, Sales, Projects, and the Customization department.
You form the link between technology, projects, and end users. Because of this, no two days are the same, and you combine technical depth with a great deal of collaboration and communication.
Our automation software is developed entirely in-house. You can build specific product knowledge with us. We are therefore primarily looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, an interest in software and automation, and the motivation to become a specialist within our products.
Managing and further developing your own product portfolio within Automation;
Supporting project teams during the engineering phase;
Drafting requirements for desired product improvements and changes;
Configuring and integrating automation products within various systems and applications;
Aligning possible product adjustments with Engineering and the Customization team;
Testing new software versions and functionalities;
Drafting, updating, and managing product documentation;
Providing training to colleagues and customers;
Advising customers and colleagues on application possibilities of our products;
Supporting service activities, both remotely and on board vessels;
Supporting commissioning and start-ups;
Identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the further development of our automation solutions.
This role combines software, automation, engineering and customer contact. You will be involved from the sales and engineering phase through to the final commissioning of the system on board. The combination of product ownership, technical depth and collaboration with a wide range of disciplines gives you plenty of scope to make an impact within a fast-growing and innovative business unit.
