The Harbor Master Division (DHMR) ensures the smooth, safe, clean, and secure handling of shipping. With approximately 400 employees, the division belongs to the world elite. They work in a continuous service in a port that is constantly in motion. The increase in ship visits, the energy transition, and the digitalization of the port demand a new generation of harbor masters. An important step we are taking to ensure the Harbor Master Division is resilient to future changes is the introduction of the Duty Officer Supervision position at the HCC.
We notice that our processes and interventions are increasingly interconnected. Therefore, we are focusing on close cooperation in an operational center for the entire division. We call this the DHMR front office and the DHMR back office. All information, reports, requests, etc., come into this front office. We handle the direction and prioritization of the work together with a DHMR-wide perspective from the back office.
