What we're looking for

Demonstrable experience with Microsoft 365, with a focus on Security and Compliance
Knowledge of and experience with data labeling and Microsoft Purview (or similar tooling)
Affinity with data governance on a modern data platform (preferably Microsoft Fabric) and with configuring Microsoft Purview for this purpose
Experience with data governance and information security within complex organizations
Ability to translate technical developments into applicable functional solutions
Strong communication skills and the ability to advise stakeholders, including for example the DEC
Experience with security and compliance policy and translating policy into technical measures
Experience with compliance issues within Microsoft 365, such as information classification, retention periods, and auditing
A proactive, independent, and result-oriented working attitude, in which you identify opportunities and take initiative

At MST, you will utilize Microsoft 365 and data governance to keep our data platform secure and well-managed, with a focus on the protection of healthcare data.

What you'll do

As an M365 Security & Compliance Specialist at MST, you will play an important role in the digital transformation of our organization. You will become part of the newly to be established Microsoft 365 Center of Excellence (CoE): an expertise team that ensures control over innovation, adoption, governance, and information security within the platform. In this role, you will ensure that Microsoft 365 is deployed securely, compliantly, and with a future-oriented approach within MST, with a major focus on Security and Data Governance.

With Microsoft Purview, you will support not only the governance within Microsoft 365, but also that of the Microsoft Fabric data platform (the MST Data Platform). For example, you will deal with data classification, sensitivity labels, data lineage, and the data catalog. For this component, you will work closely with the Data Expertise Center (DEC), so that agreements regarding data, security, and governance within Microsoft 365 and the data platform align well with each other.

In doing so, you will operate at the intersection of technology, information security, and data. You will translate developments and possibilities within the Microsoft platform into practical solutions that suit the needs of MST and contribute to a secure digital healthcare environment.

You will ensure the design and further development of security and compliance solutions within Microsoft 365 (such as Microsoft Purview)
You will configure and further develop Microsoft Purview, both within Microsoft 365 and on the Fabric data platform
You will engage structurally with the Data Expertise Center (DEC), so that data governance on the data platform aligns with the broader data management and governance approach of MST
You will translate new developments within Microsoft 365 into concrete applications within MST
You will advise on governance, risks, and the secure use of the platform
You will work closely with IT management, security specialists, the DEC, and the organization
You will contribute to the implementation of innovations such as AI and Microsoft Copilot in a secure manner
You combine strategic insight with practical execution and know how to translate complex issues into workable and functional solutions.

About the company & team

You will work within the IT organization of MST, a team of approximately 150 IT professionals in total. In this position, you will play a central role in the newly to be formed Microsoft 365 Center of Excellence (CoE). This team will become the expertise center of the IT department within MST, where innovation, information security, and governance come together.

The CoE ensures that developments within Microsoft 365 and wishes from the organization are assessed and implemented in a structured manner. In doing so, the team makes a direct contribution to MST's ambition to be a modern, reliable, and data-driven healthcare organization.

For everything related to data governance on the Fabric data platform, you will work intensively with the Data Expertise Center (DEC). The DEC determines the frameworks for data management and data governance within MST; you will help translate these frameworks into the concrete configuration of Purview on the platform. In this way, you have one foot in the CoE and one foot in the DEC, and you connect technology, security, and data governance with each other.

You will work together with colleagues from various disciplines, such as IT management, information security, the DEC, and healthcare, and you will have an important role in connecting technology and practice.
