The role

No two weeks are the same as a Software Service Engineer at LAN. One week you are supporting customers remotely from the office, the next week you are traveling to a customer to perform a software upgrade or resolve a complex fault.

Your week often starts with reviewing service notifications. A customer in France has a question about a software adjustment, while a fault has occurred at an installation in the United States. You log in remotely, analyze the situation, and ensure the production line is operational again as quickly as possible. As the first point of contact for software-related questions, customers always know how to find you. Additionally, you work on software upgrades and improvements for existing LAN installations. You develop and test software changes, coordinate with colleagues from Engineering, and ensure that adjustments are implemented smoothly without unnecessary downtime for the customer.

During the week, you provide training for operators, maintenance technicians, and service partners. You help users get the most out of our systems and ensure they can work with the software independently and efficiently.

A significant part of your work week is spent at customer sites. You inspect installations, perform software optimizations, and guide local service partners in their activities. Is something going differently than expected? Then you act quickly, make decisions, and ensure an appropriate solution. At the same time, you identify opportunities to further improve installations. You discuss recommendations with customers and report your findings back to the Service and Engineering team.

No two weeks are the same. One week you work on remote support and software improvements from the office, the next week you are on the road to customers somewhere in the world to optimize installations. It is precisely that combination of technology, freedom, travel, and customer contact that makes this position so challenging.
