Are you looking for a company where you can complete your graduation assignment? Our Software Engineering department has space for a student to conduct research into the possibilities of controlling an axis system using a Festo CEPE (new type PLC) in combination with FTL (Festo Teach Language).

Currently, we manufacture palletizing portals for customers using a Siemens PLC in combination with Festo linear axes and servo drives. The various paths/routes required for (de)palletizing are programmed in a TIA portal (Totally Integrated Automation Portal) using "hard" coordinates.

In theory, this should be able to be solved in a different way using FTL and the new CEPE PLC. Think of how it is done with robots: programming the main tasks on the laptop, but "programming" the movements/paths of the various actions via a teach pendant. In this way, it should be easier to make small adjustments to the paths at the (customer) location.

Goal of the assignment
Research the possibilities of FTL in combination with a CEPE and an XYZ portal and develop a POC/realization with the physical hardware.
