The role

Do you want to understand how an insurer works AND translate that knowledge into smart technological solutions? As a Junior Business Analyst Insurance, you form the bridge between business and technology. You dive into insurance processes and customer issues and translate these step by step into solutions that are actually used. In doing so, you will learn to work with Symbria and discover firsthand how technology makes insurance processes smarter and more efficient.

What is Symbria?

Symbria is the insurance solution from IG&H with which we help insurers set up their processes more smartly and in a future-proof manner. The solution is built on the low-code platform Novulo.

What you'll do

Your first two months are dedicated to learning. In addition to your general onboarding at IG&H, you will follow a training program in which you get to know the insurance world, Symbria, and the low-code platform Novulo. After that, you will join an existing client project, where you will start working under the guidance of experienced colleagues. You intentionally start close to the technology. By configuring things yourself, you learn how insurance products, processes, and systems truly work behind the scenes. Once you master that foundation, you will get increasing space to grow towards business analysis. After about six months, you will discuss together where your interests and qualities lie and how you want to develop further.

What makes insurers so interesting?

Insurers work with complex products, large amounts of data, and processes in which technology plays an increasingly important role. Precisely because of that, there is much to discover and improve for a Junior Business Analyst.

Concretely, this means that you

  • investigate customer wishes and insurance processes and learn to translate them into requirements, user stories, and process descriptions;

  • contribute to building insurance solutions with Symbria and learn to work with the low-code platform Novulo. For example, you set up insurance products, screens, workflows, and business rules, and discover how you can automate and digitize processes with technology;

  • draw up test scenarios, test new configurations, and investigate where unexpected outcomes or error messages originate from;

  • transfer configurations between development, test, and acceptance environments and clearly document the choices made;

  • collaborate on implementations, product setup, and the modernization of existing insurance processes;

  • participate in client meetings, workshops, and demos and gradually receive more responsibility for parts of the solution.

What you bring

  • You have completed a higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education, for example in Business Administration, Business IT & Management, Technical Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or Insurance & Risk Management;

  • You have an affinity with IT and are curious about the insurance world.

  • You communicate excellently in Dutch and English;

  • You quickly master complex subject matter and are curious about how processes and systems work;

  • You get energy from analyzing and solving complex issues;

  • You enjoy collaborating with clients and various stakeholders;

  • You want to develop yourself into an expert at the intersection of business and technology;

You do not need to be an expert in insurance or technology yet. We find it more important that you are curious and analytical and want to understand how something works.

What we offer you

  • Working at a Great Place to Work with a pleasant atmosphere and enthusiastic colleagues who support you.

  • We offer a permanent (indefinite period) contract immediately.

  • A salary of € 3,100 to € 3,500 gross per month excluding holiday allowance based on 40 hours (holiday allowance is paid out monthly).

  • An extensive training program via the IG&H Junior Academy.

  • A personal buddy and mentor from day one!

  • Company car / good mobility scheme.

  • You can work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.

  • We occasionally support working abroad for a maximum of 4 weeks per year.

  • 25 vacation days with the possibility to take more.

  • The possibility to take a sabbatical after 3 years of employment.

  • IG&H facilitates a Healthy Human program, where you receive guidance for all life adjustments, such as having a child or caring for a sick family member.

  • A nice bonus that can amount to up to 12% of the gross annual salary.

  • Regular team outings, events, and drinks.
