Healthcare Transformation and Decision Support Internship (Health & Alii)

Are you an ambitious student and do you want to discover how consultancy, healthcare, and technology come together? During this internship, you will investigate how healthcare professionals can be better supported in decision-making while simultaneously gaining practical experience at IG&H and Alii.

Healthcare in the Netherlands is under pressure. More and more people need care, while the number of available healthcare professionals is lagging behind. To continue providing good care in the future, it is important to investigate how healthcare can be organized more smartly, effectively, and appropriately.

IG&H and Alii want to further investigate how digital decision support can contribute to this transformation. Central to this is how healthcare professionals can better apply medical knowledge in daily practice, so that patients receive the right and most appropriate care more quickly.

Alii is part of IG&H and focuses on AI-driven decision support in healthcare. The platform helps healthcare professionals apply medical knowledge faster and more easily in practice. Guidelines, protocols, scientific insights, practical experience, and patient information are brought together in one environment. This gives healthcare professionals access to current and relevant insights at the moment of decision-making. In this way, Alii supports better-founded choices and contributes to appropriate and effective care.

During this internship, you will combine research with practical experience. Part of the week, you will work within the Alii team. You will gain insight into how the platform is developed and applied in practice and contribute to innovations that support healthcare professionals in making well-founded decisions.

Additionally, you will work together with consultants from the IG&H Health team on a research assignment. You will investigate how decision support can contribute to healthcare transformation (sector-wide), what impact this has on healthcare institutions, healthcare professionals, and patients, and how this impact can be made transparent and scalable.

• Structuring complex issues within healthcare and translating them into a clear research approach;

• Performing both qualitative and quantitative analyses;

• Collecting and interpreting insights regarding decision support and healthcare transformation;

• Translating research results into practical recommendations for healthcare organizations;

• Presenting insights to various stakeholders;

• Collaborating with consultants, healthcare professionals, and experts from Alii on a current issue within healthcare.

• You are currently studying at a university.

• You are in the final phase of your bachelor's or master's degree, for example, in the direction of health sciences, biomedical sciences, technical medicine, health technology, or a similar field of study.

• You are interested in healthcare transformation, appropriate care, and innovation within healthcare.

• You enjoy conducting research and translating results into concrete insights and recommendations.

• You are entrepreneurial, curious, and enjoy collaborating.

• You are available for at least three months and preferably 6 months, for 32 to 40 hours per week.
