At De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum, the pearl of the Frisian economy, we build exceptional Feadships: world-class yachts, fully customized to the client's wishes and finished to perfection. From our modern shipyard on the IJsselmeer, we proudly work on projects up to 120 meters. Every detail counts, and everyone's craftsmanship contributes to the final result. Together, we realize yachts that garner admiration worldwide. That is your contribution to the construction of a Feadship.

As an exterior furniture maker, you build luxury outdoor furniture that gives the yacht character. From technical drawings, you realize custom parts such as benches, tables, bars, buffet cabinets, and ceilings. Additionally, you work on components such as cap rails and Teak furniture cladding. Everything you make is visible on board and is used daily, which demands precision in dimensioning, execution, and finishing.

In the workshop, you build components entirely and translate designs into work that is manufacturable. You ensure that details align as intended and work with wood types such as teak and veneer to achieve a final result that stands. During the process, you maintain control, adjust where necessary, and monitor quality from start to finish.

Because every yacht is built completely custom, you work on diverse designs and finishes. You switch between projects, materials, and details and adapt your working method accordingly. With an eye for planning and progress, you ensure that your work is ready for the next step in the process.

Within the exterior department, you work together with colleagues and coordinate with the team leader. You contribute to the progress of the project and ensure that your work aligns with the whole. What you make can be seen on board yachts that are delivered worldwide and helps determine how the final result is experienced.

Work is performed with materials that demand precision and control. Quality is monitored throughout the entire process, and every component only leaves the workshop when it meets the specified requirements. You take responsibility for your own work and contribute to the collective result.
