About Ecocem
In their own words
About the company & team
Ecocem Benelux B.V.
For over twenty years, the Ecocem Group has been working on the sustainability of the cement industry, with the ambition to halve the global CO2 emissions of the cement industry by 2030. We achieve this through the efficient use of available ground granulated blast furnace slag, our base product, and new, alternative technologies for low-carbon cement with a low clinker content.
The Ecocem Group has factories and storage locations in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and the Netherlands. We are a fast-growing, talent-oriented, and innovation-driven company with the intrinsic motivation to have a positive impact.
Additional information
The main component of cement is clinker. The production of clinker and therefore cement contributes 8% to total global CO2 emissions. Cement production is more harmful than aviation, shipping, and long-distance road transport combined.
