What you'll get

At P. de Vries, you will be given the space and trust to further shape your field of expertise. You will work within a technical company where lines of communication are short and where safety and quality are taken seriously.

You can count on:

  • An independent and responsible position within our organization;

  • Plenty of room to further develop and improve the QHSE policy;

  • A salary appropriate to your knowledge and experience;

  • Good employment conditions according to the Metal & Techniek collective labor agreement;

  • Room for education and further development within your field of expertise;

  • A varied working environment in which you are present both in the office and at our projects;

  • A committed organization with short lines of communication and down-to-earth colleagues.

The role

At P. de Vries Installatietechnieken, we are looking for a Head of QHSE who firmly puts safety, quality, health, environment, and sustainability on the map. Someone who develops policy, but above all ensures that it works in practice. You see where things can be improved, address people when necessary, and lead the organization through new developments.

A responsible position in which you report directly to the Managing Director and have a great deal of influence on how we work today and in the future.

What you'll do

As Head of QHSE, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our policy regarding quality, safety, health, environment, and sustainability.

You maintain an overview of laws and regulations, certifications, and internal agreements. At the same time, you can regularly be found at our projects. Because it is precisely there that you see what is going well and where we can improve.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Developing and monitoring the Health & Safety and QHSE policy;

  • Supervising compliance with laws and regulations within the organization and on our projects;

  • Drafting policy instructions and work instructions for employees and contractors, and providing information, instructions, and toolbox meetings;

  • Executing and supervising internal and external audits regarding, among other things, VCA;

  • Drafting, monitoring, and following up on the RI&E;

  • Enforcing the designation policy according to NEN 3140;

  • Checking workplaces, work equipment, materials, and PPE;

  • Further developing and enforcing the Safety Culture Ladder;

  • Monitoring developments regarding the Quality Assurance for Building Act (WKB);

  • Coaching, supervising, and instructing QHSE coordinators;

  • Periodically reporting to the Managing Director and informing department heads.

Do you see an unsafe situation? Then you act. You have the responsibility and the authority to address employees and contractors and to stop work when safety is at stake.

Sustainability and circularity

For us, QHSE goes beyond just working safely. Sustainability and circularity are also gaining an increasingly important place within our organization.

You help in the further development of our sustainability and risk policy and look critically at existing processes. You investigate circular possibilities, follow developments in the field of ESG, and translate these into practical improvements within the organization.

In doing so, you report on performance and opportunities for improvement and ensure that sustainability is not just a policy document, but actually becomes part of our way of working.

What do you bring?

For this position, we are looking for someone who stands firmly in their shoes. You can translate complex regulations into clear agreements and know how to bring people along with you. You are analytical, decisive, and do not wait for a problem to arise. You communicate clearly and dare to make decisions. You coach, explain, and ensure that people understand why we make certain choices.

  • The willingness to continue developing yourself through education and training.

Where will you be working?

At P. de Vries Installatietechniek, everything revolves around people and quality. Since 1929, we have been providing pleasant and healthy living and learning environments with high-quality, modern, and circular total solutions. Our technicians are not just professionals, but also mentors who pass their knowledge on to the next generation with passion. We are proud of our Leeuwarden roots and our strong local connection. With us, the rule is: “No does not exist – if we cannot do it ourselves, we refer you to a party that can.” We don't talk too long, we just get it done. With a close-knit, informal culture and a touch of humor, we ensure that everyone feels at home. Working independently, but not alone – that is our motto.

We are a proud part of the fast-growing VDK Groep (185 companies, 9000 employees), but we operate with our own identity and culture. This means that with us, you experience the advantages of a large organization – think of extensive training opportunities, a stable foundation, and attractive employment conditions – while simultaneously receiving the freedom and responsibility to make your own mark. In this way, we combine the strength of the VDK Groep with the flexibility and dynamism of an independent company. #VDKGROEPManagementStaff
