The role

Are you the analytical thinker who completes the puzzle?

While others focus on execution, you set the course early in the process. As a Infra Estimator, you work on (multidisciplinary) infrastructure projects ranging from roads and civil structures to K&L and area development, laying the foundation for winning bids with sharp estimates and clear analyses. You work primarily from the office (hybrid possible): ideal if you do want to make an impact on projects, but no longer want to work outdoors.

This will be your job
In your role as an infrastructure estimator, you are the specialist who ensures our projects are properly calculated, from the first assessment through to the final bid. You are not only involved in tenders, but also take ownership of independent bids where you lead the entire process: coordinating with project leaders and site managers, commissioning contract scans, preparing the cost calculation, and conducting the final review before submitting the bid documents.

What you'll do

What are you going to do?

  • You translate specifications, drawings, and Memoranda of Information into reliable quantities and cost elements. You see exactly what is required and what it costs.

  • You prepare estimates and tender budgets, including scenario and sensitivity analyses for price, planning, and risk, so that decisions are based on facts and you make well-founded choices.

  • You request quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, create price comparisons, and substantiate your choices; your analyses ensure sharp and realistic tender budgets.

  • You provide substantive input for MEAT/plan of approach, such as cost substantiation, optimizations, and sustainability and execution scenarios, making our bids not only cost-efficient but also qualitatively strong.

  • You identify opportunities and risks, secure assumptions, and elaborate on these in the opportunity and risk dossier; your sharp eye helps to make bids even stronger.

  • You contribute directly to winning bids for various infrastructure and civil engineering works in the North East region; your work forms the basis of success.

  • You are in the lead for independent bids: you coordinate with project managers and site managers, request the contract scan, handle the complete cost calculation, and take care of the closing discussion and handover of the bid documents, with plenty of room for your own initiative and independence.
