Technical Application Administrator Banking Applications

We are looking for an analytical and curious IT professional with a passion for application infrastructure and keeping complex IT chains technically healthy. You are communicatively skilled, work in a structured manner, and enjoy maintaining an overview. Specifically, we are looking for someone with approximately the following background:

• You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking;

• We require a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical IT role, e.g., as a technical application administrator, 3rd-line Support Engineer, or other logical stepping stones to this role;

• You have experience managing Windows Server and/or Linux (LPIC-1/RHCSA is a plus) and possess basic SQL knowledge to be able to query databases;

• You have experience with (or a strong desire to learn) scripting in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python;

• Extensive experience with a scheduling package;

• You are familiar with working in a structured manner according to ITIL processes (possession of ITIL Foundation v3 or v4 is a plus);

• You are an experienced senior who makes a difference through expertise and contributes to the development of colleagues and the team with strong coaching skills.

• You possess good oral and written command of both the Dutch and English languages.

• A gross salary up to € 5,500 per month. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and on your knowledge and experience

Within the financial sector, downtime is not an option. As a Technical Application Administrator at Centric, you ensure the 24/7 availability and optimal performance of our highly critical banking applications and associated databases. You operate at the intersection of applications, databases, and the underlying infrastructure (Windows and Linux). A versatile role in which you combine thorough technical incident analysis with proactively optimizing and—where possible—automating our management environments.

As a Technical Application Administrator, you find yourself at the intersection of software, databases, and infrastructure. In this position, you focus entirely on keeping our highly critical application landscape technically healthy, secure, and future-proof on Windows and Linux platforms.

Your workday is varied and includes, among other things:

• Ensuring the installation of updates, proactively monitoring system performance via monitoring tools, and guaranteeing the technical connections between applications and databases;

• You develop smart scripts in, for example, PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate management tasks and deployments, so that repetitive work is kept to a minimum;

• In the event of complex technical failures or data issues, you investigate in close cooperation with other Centric teams (such as Windows, Networking, and DBA) to analyze and resolve the underlying cause;

• Before a new release goes live, you test in an isolated environment whether the infrastructure can handle the capacity, whether the APIs work correctly, and whether backups are secured;

• You carefully execute planned changes and incidents via strict Change and Incident Management processes in tools such as ServiceNow, TOPdesk, or Jira.
