Internship Work Preparation and/or Execution

Working on a dike that is always in motion? Go for it!

Contribute to the reinforcement of the KIJK dike between Rotterdam and Gouda. A project with impact, where safety, accessibility, and the environment come together. While the dike is being reinforced, the road on top remains in use and approximately 800 people live along the route. This requires smart solutions, good coordination, and tight organization.

Within this versatile project, you will work together with specialists from various disciplines, such as foundations, earthworks, and civil engineering. Whether you choose work preparation, execution, or a combination of both: you will actively contribute to the project.

During your internship, you will become a full part of the project team and gain good insight into both work preparation and execution. Depending on your interests and learning goals, you can choose to delve into one of the two, or specifically create a combination.

• Drawing up and elaborating work and execution plans
• Applying for permits and purchasing materials
• Providing support with calculations and the preparation of quotes
• Thinking along about and contributing to planning, quality, and budget monitoring

• Working on the construction site and supporting the site manager with daily tasks, such as surveying, material inspections, and monitoring progress
• Helping together with the site manager to ensure the project runs smoothly and gaining insight into how planning, safety, and quality are guaranteed in practice
• Supporting various preparatory and administrative activities
• Learning by shadowing site managers and work preparers how a project is realized from preparation to completion

During your internship, you will be given the space to learn a lot, take responsibility, and discover which role suits you best.

As an intern, you enjoy working together with colleagues on and around the project between Rotterdam and Gouda. You are eager to learn, want to develop yourself, and tackle both practical and preparatory tasks with enthusiasm. With your active attitude, you contribute to various facets of the project.

Furthermore:

• You are following a degree in road and hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, or international land and water management.
• You are a real doer.
