The role
From the reconstruction of the Amstel junction and the Zuidas to the adjustment of the Postweg on Texel: your work as a civil works site manager matters. For the Netherlands. And for your colleagues and the stakeholders of Boskalis. Because you lead the execution team, monitor the planning, quality, and safety. At the end of the project, you know: this is here partly thanks to me.
Go for it!
From the first pile to the last meter of asphalt: as a site manager, you are the one who ensures that it actually happens outside. You are in the middle of the project and lead 30 to 50 skilled workers and subcontractors. Thanks to you, the right people and materials come together at the right time and the work proceeds safely and according to plan.
Which projects will you work on? These vary from the largest infrastructure projects in the Netherlands to smaller ones with just as much impact. There is always a project that suits you.
This is what your work looks like:
- Every morning, you instruct the project team about the work and the planning for that day. You also check whether subcontractors deliver what has been agreed upon, and you address them if that is not the case.
- In every project, you are the central hub maintaining contact with, among others, clients, project managers, and environmental managers.
- On larger projects, you also manage other site managers. Not much experience yet? That is perfectly fine. You will be well guided and will take on more responsibilities step by step.
- You manage progress, maintain control over costs, and think along with the project manager and client regarding solutions if something changes in the execution or environment.
- Job satisfaction at the project location comes first. You maintain the positive atmosphere and understand how important it is to celebrate large and small successes together.
This makes your future colleague proud
"If you show that you want to grow, you receive excellent guidance at Boskalis. I started 20 years ago as an assistant foreman and constantly received opportunities to grow through roles such as foreman, chief foreman, work preparer, tender manager, and project manager to become a site manager. Tell me, wouldn't you want to work for a company to be proud of?"

Do you recognize yourself in this?
With your technical insight and clear management, you lay the foundation for the work outside. All stakeholders - from your colleagues in the execution team to clients such as municipalities and Rijkswaterstaat - can count on your focus, overview, and clear communication. You know: you can only achieve it together. And if something goes differently than planned? Then you keep a cool head and come up proactively with solutions. Always with an eye on safety, job satisfaction, and achieving results.
