The role
From highways to regional infrastructure: as an asphalt foreman, you ensure the work happens outdoors. You lead the execution team, monitor progress, and ensure that quality and safety always come first.
Go for it!
You are in the middle of the project, leading an asphalt crew. Thanks to your overview and direction, people, equipment, and transport come together at the right time and the work proceeds according to plan. You coordinate with project managers, work preparers, and transport, so that everything comes together at the right moment.
In addition, you play an important role in monitoring quality and safety. You ensure that the asphalt is processed according to the correct specifications, organize the necessary inspections, and intervene when there are deviations. You also maintain control over the progress and costs of the project and adjust where necessary.
What makes your role extra dynamic is that no two days are the same. You often work under time pressure, for example during night or weekend work, and must be able to switch quickly in response to changing circumstances such as weather, planning, or logistical challenges. That is exactly where you make the difference: you keep a cool head, make decisions, and ensure your team remains focused.
You work on diverse projects, from large-scale works such as the A15 and A2 to smaller projects with just as much impact. You work at various project locations spread across the country. Project deployment at a great distance from your place of residence is occasionally part of the reality; with the asphalt planning and deployment, we try to keep this to a minimum, and at most for a few days, so of course, we also have a good overnight arrangement;
What you'll do
- You provide daily leadership to an asphalt crew (operators, screed men, finishers, and transport).
- You coordinate the planning with the project team and ensure everything is arranged in a timely manner.
- You monitor progress and quality and adjust where necessary.
- You organize and check quality measurements.
- You prepare reports and maintain control over costs and production.
- You ensure a safe working environment and a good team atmosphere.
This is what your work looks like
This makes your future colleague proud
"If you show that you want to grow, you receive excellent guidance at Boskalis. I started 20 years ago as an assistant foreman and constantly received opportunities to grow through roles such as foreman, chief foreman, work preparer, tender manager, and project manager to become a site manager. Tell me, wouldn't you want to work for a company to be proud of?"

Always with an eye on safety, job satisfaction, and achieving results.
Furthermore, you have:
- MBO or HBO level, preferably in the field of civil engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience as a foreman in the GWW sector (Civil Engineering, Water Management, and Infrastructure).
