• A completed relevant HBO (higher professional education) degree supplemented with a Master's degree as a Physician Assistant, preferably trained in the field of ophthalmology. Should you currently still be following the program and graduating soon, or if you would like to start the program, we would also love to get in touch with you

• A registration with the NAPA quality register and BIG register

• You are available 24 to 40 hours; we can discuss the working days together in consultation.

• A salary between €5,295.- and €7,901.- gross per month (FWG 65), in accordance with CAO ZKN based on full-time employment (40 hours)

• An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and holiday allowance of 8.33%

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer with a maximum of 80 km (one way). Do you travel by public transport? Then we reimburse these costs fully

• A fixed-term contract with a view to permanent employment

As a Physician Assistant, you play a crucial role in our team. You work at a high level in collaboration with ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care to our patients. As a Physician Assistant, you play an essential role within ophthalmology and contribute directly to the care of our patients. You are authorized to independently perform outpatient procedures that are normally performed by a medical specialist, such as making diagnoses and treating patients. You work independently within your specialty and make decisions that improve the quality of care. At the same time, you always work in close collaboration with medical specialists, so that your expertise has maximum effect on the well-being of our patients.

• Conducting independent consultation hours, during which you perform ophthalmological examinations and establish the diagnosis based on these. You draw up the treatment plan and evaluate and determine the medical policy. You prescribe medication and provide medical information to patients

• Performing (outpatient) procedures and administering intra-vitreal injections

• Performing medical treatments such as YAG cataract, YAG PI, SLT and the removal of a chalazion. It is also possible to further develop in these areas. The medical specialists can guide you in this

• Contributing to quality and safety, cooperating in process optimization and projects at the location, participating in multidisciplinary work meetings, and administrative handling

The department consists of 7 general ophthalmologists with various areas of focus. The clinic in Ede has 2 operating rooms, a treatment room, YAG, Argon, and PDT lasers. Extensive diagnostic equipment is available at the outpatient clinic, including a FAG camera, OCT(angio), HFA, Sirius corneatopgraph, and A- and B-scan. In addition to our own surgical programs for anterior segment and eyelid surgery, we perform strabismus surgery for both adults and children at another location.

You are part of a (para)medical team with ophthalmologists, three physician assistants, and orthoptists who work with much energy and dedication. Together, you ensure a pleasant working atmosphere in which the patient is always central.
