• Your assignment aligns well with you as a person and has depth. Your research/project will also actually be carried out. As a principle, we do not conduct research that we are not going to use.

• You will receive intensive guidance from our experienced colleagues + access to all the information you need.

• When we are both satisfied, you can of course continue to work at Belsimpel after your graduation assignment. Many graduates at Belsimpel continue working on their own graduation project, how cool is that!

What kind of assignments do we have available?

We always have several interesting projects ready to get started with. Which one you will work on? We will discuss that later in consultation with you. One thing is certain: at Belsimpel, we can offer you the challenge you are looking for!

Engineering
From an engineering perspective, you could think of, for example, an assignment within one of our many teams, such as our website, our CRM system, warehouse system, AB-testing system or our Verifai risk engine. For instance, Mike worked on an internal Developer Portal:

"During my graduation project at Gomibo, I researched how to design a developer portal. This is a central place where engineers can find documentation, tools and service information. In addition, I investigated which theoretical software metrics truly reflect the health and maintainability of services and how valuable they are in practice. By interviewing engineers, analyzing production environments and linking academic insights to practice within the company, I helped bridge the gap between theory and real software development. What began as an exploration quickly grew into something bigger: the portal I built is now actively used within Belsimpel, allowing me to see the direct effect of my work."

Industrial Engineering and Management
Think of assignments at the intersection of technology, organizational processes and strategic decision-making. You will be challenged to understand technical constraints, apply systems thinking and align colleagues and users across teams. You don't just create a technical solution: you also shape the system, the organization and the decision-making structure around it. This allows you to see the direct impact of your work from multiple perspectives. Below you can read more about Rudi's experience:

"For my Design Project at Gomibo Platforms, I tackled the question of how to measure the performance of software teams without relying on misleading metrics such as the number of lines of code written. To do this, I developed an integrated framework that combines the Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) method with the SPACE framework. I translated strategic goals into measurable results, validated the framework with engineers and other stakeholders and applied it in a development team. The assignment combined systems engineering and Python programming, where management and technical skills came together. The framework is now used every quarter to monitor reliability, performance and collaboration."
