Work on the financial operations of an international e-commerce player

• Processing and checking cost invoices

Are you studying Finance & Control and looking for a valuable internship for a period of 5 months? Then do it at Belsimpel, the largest e-commerce telecom company in the Netherlands, located in the heart of Groningen. During your third-year internship with us, you will get the chance to gain in-depth knowledge and experience in a dynamic and international company.

With a turnover of approximately 600 million in 2025 and sales in more than 30 countries, we offer a challenging environment where you can learn a lot. Our department is divided into the Accounting & Control, Vendor Finance, and Provider Finance teams, where everyone works together on the financial health of the company. Our financial administration is primarily involved in accounts receivable and accounts payable management and answering financial questions, both internally from colleagues in other departments and externally from (business) customers who have questions about the payment of their order. Team Accounting & Control prepares monthly reports for management and external stakeholders, prepares the annual accounts themselves, and is working on projects to optimize various financial processes with company-wide impact. In total, approximately 30 colleagues work in the entire Finance team, providing a nice mix between experienced colleagues and working students.

Your internship lasts approximately 5 months, during which you will mainly assist with the financial administration but also contribute to projects. This will give you a complete picture of our financial operations. You will support the Accounting & Control team primarily in daily operational activities. For example, you will help with processing cost invoices, paying out refunds to customers, and managing the administration of our insurance branch Tulip Assist Services.

Additionally, you will be in daily contact with our (business) customers to resolve financial issues, involving consultation with other departments such as Customer Service and Business. Together with you, we will look at which tasks and projects you can perform that meet the requirements of your studies. This makes it an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in practice. In addition to your tasks as an intern, you will also work on your personal development. You will follow various training sessions from our self-developed program focused on professional and personal growth. Furthermore, you can participate in various company and team outings to get to know your colleagues and the company.

During your internship, you will get a broad view of our financial organization. You will work within the Accounting & Control team and support both daily activities and projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• You are pursuing a HBO (higher professional education) degree in a financial field, such as: Finance & Control;

• You are looking for an internship starting in February 2027;

• You work accurately, critically, and in a structured manner;

• You are curious and want to understand how processes écht (really) work.
