The role

Learn more. Do more. More career. That is doing an internship at Dura Vermeer.

Finally, you can apply theory in practice: you are looking forward to it, and so are we! As a graduate at Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Den Bosch, you will get the chance to work on a current and future-oriented issue within BIM. How can we use BIM more intelligently within our projects and processes? How can we ensure that models, data, and collaboration contribute even more to more efficient construction projects? No theoretical approach, but research based on real challenges from practice. You help us discover opportunities and develop solutions that actually add value to our projects and organization.

What you'll do

BIM plays an increasingly important role within the construction sector. It supports collaboration, communication, and decision-making during all phases of a project. At the same time, developments surrounding digitalization, data management, and integrated collaboration continue to evolve at lightning speed. During this graduation internship, you will work on a current issue within BIM. We will determine the exact topic together, so that it aligns with your studies, interests, and the challenges playing out within our organization. Think, for example, of topics surrounding BIM processes, model quality, information management, collaboration between disciplines, or the use of new digital developments within BIM. You will receive a concrete case or project in which you investigate how things currently work, where opportunities for improvement lie, and how this can be done better. To do this, you will engage in conversation with colleagues from various disciplines, such as BIM managers, work preparers, project teams, engineers, and site managers. You will map out the current situation, investigate needs and challenges, and translate these into a practical solution that is actually applicable within our organization.

You will be given a lot of freedom to shape your research and to further refine the graduation topic together with your supervisor.

You will focus on researching opportunities surrounding BIM, digitalization, and process improvement within our organization. In doing so, you will deal with, among other things:

  • Analyzing current BIM issues within projects and processes;

  • Investigating how collaboration, information exchange, and model use can be further optimized;

  • Speaking with colleagues, such as BIM specialists, work preparers, site managers, and other stakeholders, to identify needs and bottlenecks;

  • Researching new developments and applications within BIM;

  • Analyzing and structuring information flows and work processes;

  • Developing a concrete end product, advice, or solution;

  • Assessing the feasibility and added value of your proposal.

In doing so, you will work at the intersection of construction, digitalization, innovation, and collaboration.

Requirements

Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can notice that. In how we work together, how we look out for each other, and how we build with an eye for future generations. With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, for us, it is not about those figures. It is about people. About colleagues who work together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contribute to solutions for societal issues. Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employer leadership and a working environment in which you feel at home.
