The role

Location: Houten and Lichtenvoorde

Do you want to look beyond the standard IT support request and work in a technical environment that contributes to the energy transition?

As an IT Support Employee at Fortes Energy Systems, you work close to both the technology and the business. In addition to daily IT support, you dive into the systems behind our production environment, where SQL plays an important role and our most important production application was developed in-house in C#. A great opportunity for someone who loves solving problems, is technically curious, and wants to further develop within IT.

You will get plenty of room to take responsibility for IT within Fortes, with the knowledge and expertise of the broader IT team within BDR Thermea Group Benelux behind you. You report to the Manager IT Infrastructure & Operations of Remeha, our sister organization.

What you'll do

No two days are the same: from helping a colleague with an IT question to analyzing a technical problem in the production environment. Your duties include:

  • You support approximately 70 colleagues with IT questions, incidents, and malfunctions and ensure a fast, customer-oriented, and structural solution via ServiceNow.
  • You analyze technical problems and identify recurring issues, so that you can contribute to structural improvements.
  • You dive into the systems behind our production environment, including SQL databases and various office, production, and WMS applications.
  • You set up IT workstations and ensure that colleagues at our various locations can get off to a good start.
  • You guide new colleagues in the use of our IT systems and help them quickly find their way around the environment.
  • You work together with external IT partners and suppliers and help monitor that agreements and SLAs are met.

You are active weekly at our locations in Houten (Fortes office) and Lichtenvoorde (Fortes production), whereby you work at least two days per week in Lichtenvoorde . During your onboarding, you will also regularly be in Apeldoorn to get to know the broader IT team and the systems well. After that, you will work an average of one day per week from Apeldoorn (Remeha and BDR HQ office). To give you all the flexibility in this regard, an electric lease car will, of course, be ready for you.

You are someone who gets energy from an IT problem that requires a deep dive. You enjoy helping users, but are also curious about what is happening technically behind a system. You ask the right questions, work in a structured manner, and take responsibility until a problem is truly solved.

In their own words

About the company & team

Fortes Energy Systems is active in the energy market and focuses on innovative and sustainable energy technologies. Fortes works on smart and efficient energy solutions that contribute to a greener future.

Fortes develops and produces, among other things, solutions for collective heating and cooling networks, working in the midst of a market that is constantly in motion. The organization has a strong technical foundation: technology and substance form the starting point for how Fortes views products, projects, and clients.

With approximately 70 colleagues, Fortes is a relatively small organization with short lines and an informal, involved atmosphere. Colleagues know each other well and seek each other out easily, for example during the communal lunch. There is also room to come together outside of daily work, with for example a summer BBQ, Christmas dinner, or New Year's drinks.

As part of BDR Thermea Group, you work simultaneously in a broader environment in which various brands, such as sister company Remeha, come together around sustainable heating and heat infrastructure.

At BDR Thermea Group, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are critical to our success. We are committed to creating a workplace where every potential future employee feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Please check out our DE&I policy on our website to find out more.
