What will you do?
As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will work on the foundation of ASN Bank's payment chain. Think of all functionalities surrounding payments: thousands of requests per minute that must be processed without error. You improve and innovate user experiences and dive into technologies that make payment processes run even more smoothly for our customers. Your impact? Enormous. Hundreds of thousands of customers use what you build every day. Additionally, together with the rest of the team, you bear responsibility for the continuity of our payment services. Your scope is end-to-end: from architectural choices to go-live and operations. That combination of technical complexity and direct social impact? You won't find it anywhere else. Furthermore:

• You will think along about the future, actively contributing to the transition of our core payment application to the target architecture
• You will work on the introduction of the new European payment standard WERO
• You will work with modern technologies such as Java 17+, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka
• You take end-to-end ownership, from requirements to working features in production, including operations, incident management, and stand-by, true DevOps
• You deliver high code quality, optimize performance, and have knowledge of Cobol (50/50 split with Java)

You work in a multidisciplinary BizDevOps team Payments within Daily Banking, together with a Requirements Engineer, fellow Developers, and a Business & Engineering Lead. Product Delivery Banking is responsible for all processes surrounding paying, saving, consumer lending, and investing, and the IT applications that make these processes possible. The team is close-knit, open, and ambitious, a place where you keep each other sharp and where there is room for humor and honesty. Every Tuesday, you meet in Utrecht (sometimes Den Bosch) to brainstorm, build, and celebrate successes. The rest of the week, you work flexibly, partly from home.
