Role description:
As an Industrial Automation Engineer, you will work within the MEP Business Unit on the complete design process of infrastructural installations, from sketch design to commissioning. The department designs electrotechnical and mechanical installations for tunnels, bridges, locks, stations, and terminals.

In this role, you ensure the integration of various sub-installations within the total system, including the control system. You draft requirements and specifications, design control installations, and ensure that cyber security is integrally included from the design stage. Additionally, you may have a role during the realization and commissioning of installations, where you support clients and project teams with your technical expertise.

You will work on diverse renovation and new construction projects both domestically and abroad, including Zuidasdok Amsterdam, Amsterdam Central Station, the renovation of tunnels in Amsterdam, and the Fraser River tunnel (Vancouver).

Role responsibilities:
You work on the development of control solutions for complex infrastructural projects. You translate requirements and client requests into technical designs and ensure that different installations within a system work together optimally. In doing so, you take into account aspects such as functionality, safety, reliability, and cyber security.

Due to the many interfaces with other installations, disciplines, stakeholders, and the environment, you fulfill an important coordinating role within projects. You work closely with colleagues both inside and outside Arcadis and ensure good alignment between technical content, project objectives, and client needs. Also during the realization and commissioning of installations, you are an important point of contact for both the project team and the client.
