Are you a qualified nurse and do you have an affinity with oncology? During your advanced training, which is provided entirely within our specialized hospital, you will develop yourself into an expert in oncological care.
As an oncology nurse in training at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, you will get the chance to make a direct impact on the lives of our patients. Together with a multidisciplinary team of experts, you will combine nursing technical care with psychosocial support and actively contribute to the improvement of our quality of care. This unique role brings together complex medical care with personal attention for patients and their loved ones.
The 9-month training includes 14 lesson days in which you will learn about themes such as oncological systemic therapies, immunotherapy, personalized medicine, highly complex surgery, and pain management. Additionally, you will deepen your knowledge in subjects such as supportive care, chain care, and self-management. You will apply this knowledge directly in practice, while working closely with qualified oncology nurses to learn from them. The training is based on five characteristic professional situations (EPAs) and starts annually in April and October. In addition to your working hours, the study load averages 8 hours per week.
At the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, you will be part of a team of more than 275 (oncology) nurses and other healthcare professionals, all driven to deliver the best care. Together, we improve treatment processes and work on groundbreaking solutions in oncology. Treating cancer is teamwork, and you are an essential link in that process.
Are you ready to make a difference and shape the future of oncological care? Then register for the advanced training and become part of our passionate team! Read more about the training here: Advanced Training Oncology Nursing | Leren bij AVL
