Make a real difference as a Maintenance Technician Instrumentation & Control at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. In this role, you will work daily on the technical intelligence behind one of the most specialized oncological hospitals in the world. You will analyze malfunctions, optimize systems, and ensure that installations function reliably and efficiently. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to what truly matters: the best care for our patients.
As a Maintenance Technician Instrumentation & Control, you and your colleagues are responsible for the management, maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of the instrumentation and control technical installations within our hospital. You will work with Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure that installations such as climate, air handling, and other building-bound systems are accurately controlled and monitored. You will carry out your activities as efficiently as possible to safeguard the continuity of operations and the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
You fulfill an essential role within a complex technical environment and deal with installations in various departments, such as the animal house, laboratories, operating rooms, and patient care environments. Thanks to your knowledge of control technology and systems, the entire hospital continues to function optimally. For an eager-to-learn and analytical technician, this position offers much challenge and variety.
You work in a close-knit team in which you are given a lot of freedom and responsibility to organize your work independently. We believe a good work-life balance is important. Therefore, you will primarily work day shifts. Only when the situation requires it, for example during peaks or planned activities outside regular working hours, do we ask for flexible availability.
You perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control installations and supervise external parties, aimed at safeguarding and optimizing control technology systems.
You monitor and manage the Building Management System (BMS) and ensure that installations are correctly controlled and function according to the set requirements.
You analyze measurement data and trends and use these to identify malfunctions, improve performance, and optimize installations.
You work an on-call shift once every 7 weeks, during which you are on standby outside of working hours; this is amply compensated and is a requirement for the position.
You locate malfunctions based on BMS alerts, data analyses, and signals from users. You assess the situation and risks and determine which actions are necessary to prevent disruptions and consequential damage.
You identify and report deviations, malfunctions, and opportunities for improvement to the team leader.
You have knowledge of the operation and interconnection of installations and make proposals for the optimization of controls, settings, and systems.
You ensure installations are safe, perform measurements and inspections, and correctly restart systems after work has been completed;
Depending on your work experience, you will also perform more coordinating tasks: taking responsibility for specific topics, the development of the field, planning of activities, and consultation with suppliers.
At the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, we all commit to the same goal: the best care for every patient and every type of cancer. That is no small feat. But not impossible. Here, science and care work together on innovation. Time and again, we find new ways that help people with cancer worldwide. Here we save lives, we win time and quality.
We are looking for a team player with ambition to grow both independently and together with the department. You want to keep things in order and put the customer central. If you recognize yourself in the following requirements, we would like to invite you to apply:
You have at least a relevant completed MBO education and/or a strong affinity with instrumentation and control technology and the motivation to learn this.
You have completed additional courses such as: fire alarm system manager, NEN 3140, NEN 1010, building management systems (Priva), and BHV. A VCA certificate and/or a VOP designation in the context of NEN 3140 is a plus.
You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
In this position, you work independently. Self-initiative and a proactive attitude are what we seek in our new colleague.
You have excellent analytical abilities; you understand a situation by breaking it down and determining its consequences. You leave nothing to chance in this process.
You oversee activities, schedule them systematically (actions, time, resources), you set priorities, and you monitor progress.
You are communicatively strong and proficient in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
Because you will regularly work in our animal house in this position, it is important that you do not come into contact with rodents in your daily life. If this is the case, unfortunately, you will not be eligible for this position. If you have questions about this, please contact us first!
The basis for your terms of employment is in accordance with the Cao Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals). You will receive from us:
A one-year contract for 32 - 36 hours per week, with the possibility of extension/permanent employment.
A gross monthly salary up to a maximum of € 5,503.00 based on a 36-hour work week, corresponding to FWG 55 and depending on your experience;
