The role

Ensure that the most complex buildings in the Netherlands do what they are supposed to do

From operating rooms and hospitals to WKO installations and critical building environments. As a Commissioning Technician Measurement & Control Engineering, you ensure that complex building-related installations actually work as they were designed to.

You analyze installations, optimize controls, resolve malfunctions, and ensure that climate installations perform optimally. Thanks to your expertise, buildings become more comfortable, more energy-efficient, and more reliable.

What you'll do

As a Commissioning Technician, you are the technical specialist who takes the final crucial step between engineering and a successfully working installation.

You work independently at project locations and are responsible for testing, adjusting, and optimizing building management systems and HVAC installations. In doing so, you work closely with Project Engineers, software engineers, and customers.

You are often the first person to see whether all parts of an installation are actually working together as intended.

  • Commissioning building management systems and HVAC control installations.
  • Testing, analyzing, and optimizing control engineering processes.
  • Commissioning climate installations and building-related systems.
  • Resolving complex hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Interpreting P&IDs, control engineering diagrams, and electrotechnical drawings.
  • Performing functional tests and performance checks.
  • Reporting findings, points of attention, and improvement suggestions.
  • Coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Monitoring safety, quality, and technical standards on location.

The projects

You work on technically challenging projects within healthcare and utility.

Examples of projects include:

  • UMCG new construction OR complex
  • MCL New construction hospital
  • Nij Smellinghe WKO
  • KPN renovation cooling plant

No two projects are the same. One week you are working on the optimization of an existing installation, the next week you are involved in the commissioning of a completely new building management system.

Which technology will you work with?

You will enter an environment where modern building management systems and open protocols are central:

  • Metasys
  • CCT
  • BACnet
  • Modbus
  • KNX
  • HVAC control engineering
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)

When are you successful?

After approximately twelve months:

  • You work independently on complex commissioning tasks.
  • You are a trusted technical point of contact for customers.
  • You identify and resolve malfunctions and optimizations independently.
  • You deliver installations that meet all functional requirements.
  • You actively contribute to the quality of our projects.

Do you recognize yourself in this?

You love practical technology. You enjoy analyzing problems, optimizing systems, and delivering visible results.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed MBO-4 education in electrotechnics, measurement & control engineering, installation technology, or similar.
  • Experience within HVAC, building automation, or measurement & control engineering.
  • Knowledge of building-related installations and technical processes.
  • Affinity with IT and networks.
  • Driving license B.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch.

Certifications such as MRK-A, KLI-A, or KLI-C are a plus. Do you not have these yet? Then we will help you to obtain them.
