Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Education: A completed MBO level 4 education in Operational Technology, Measurement and Control Technology, or similar.
  • Experience: +5 years of relevant work experience as a process operator, preferably in (petro)chemistry.
  • Technical knowledge: Experience with process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and broad versatility (E&I and mechanical).
  • Attitude: You are proactive, can set the right priorities under pressure, and communicate clearly in Dutch.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to participate in the on-call service (on average 1x every 4 weeks).

The role

At our location on the Maasvlakte 2, we produce 'green' hydrogen through electrolysis and wind energy. As a Plant Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring this unique production process runs optimally and efficiently. You are the technical expert who ensures that our installations continue to operate safely, reliably, and continuously.

In this broad and autonomous role, you will be active in a "multi-skilled" capacity at the intersection of production, maintenance, and engineering. You will work in a close-knit team of 8 Plant Supervisors and 6 Maintenance Technicians.

What you'll do

  • Process monitoring: You operate and monitor the plant independently, analyze malfunctions, and intervene autonomously when necessary (also 24/7 from home during on-call shifts).

  • Maintenance coordination: You plan, prepare, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, whereby you perform the maintenance yourself when possible according to the applicable procedures, or otherwise work closely with maintenance and external contractors.

  • Safety as a priority: You act as an ambassador for safety (SHEQ), provide instructions to externals, and oversee strict compliance with all regulations.

  • Project-based deepening: You will get the chance to dive deep into specific responsibilities such as Process Engineering, Risk Management, E&I, Mechanical, or Industrial Automation.

  • Process Control: initiating and executing/supervising projects, including budget preparation and management, to improve factory automation based on the SIO and ADAPT philosophy

  • Process Engineering: initiating and executing/supervising projects, including budget preparation and management, to improve short- and long-term efficiency/reliability of the installation

  • Training: designing internal training materials for (new) colleagues

  • Risk Management: leading EIS management, preparing internal and external audits in this area

  • Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance (E&I) Specialist

  • Mechanical / Rotating Maintenance (MECH) Specialist

  • Management of Change: responsible for the "management of change" procedure, including Document Management

  • Safety: safety trailblazer, management of the safety management system, managing applicable certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001)

  • Environment: emission reporting and verification (CO2 and NOx), drafting environmental reports, waste management, preparing audits in this area

How will you contribute and grow in this role?

In addition to regular duties, every Plant Supervisor at the ELYgator site is assigned a specific additional responsibility as a specialization area. These specializations ensure that all critical sub-aspects of the plant are managed at a high level:
