Do you (almost) have your Civil Engineering degree in your pocket? Don't know exactly what you want to develop or what you are best at yet? Then this traineeship at KWS Rotterdam-Zwijndrecht is for you! Even if you do know what you want to become, this is the right first step. For example, if you want to become a site manager, this traineeship will help you get there.

Your traineeship
In the traineeship at KWS Rotterdam-Zwijndrecht, your development is central. You will get to know our various fields/disciplines such as work preparation, estimation, tenders and design, and project execution. You will work on your personal development and receive good guidance. Your supervisor helps you on the job, and your coach thinks along with you about possibilities for your development/career.

By going through these different disciplines where you are actively working in a role, such as estimator, work preparer, or (assistant) site manager, you will know as a young professional by the end of the traineeship which talents and ambitions you have, and together we can further shape your career within KWS or VolkerWessels. You will be given all the space to develop yourself and there are many opportunities for growth.

• The program lasts 2 to 3 years, depending on your wishes and interest(s).

• You will work in different departments to see and experience as many sides of our company as possible.

• You will become part of the group of young professionals. Every quarter, a number of them organize a project visit to share their experiences with each other and learn from one another.

• You will follow an extensive course program including training from the VolkerWessels Academy.

• You can become a member of Jong VolkerWessels: a network of young professionals within VolkerWessels that organizes all kinds of interesting activities, such as project visits, workshops, and think tanks.

Personal development
This traineeship offers you not only the opportunity to discover what you enjoy, but also where your talents lie! We help you get started with your personal development in various ways. In addition to always having a supervisor who helps you in your daily work, you can turn to your coach with all your questions regarding your traineeship, (career) coaching, and/or training needs. This way, you (together with your coach) create a personal annual plan with concrete agreements and goals. Additionally, we encourage you to join Jong VolkerWessels, a network club of young professionals within VolkerWessels.

Your qualities as a Trainee
You are an enthusiastic and driven starter who masters the Dutch language and has a lot of energy. In addition, you have a drive to continue developing yourself. After completing your traineeship, we would love to see you grow into a position that perfectly matches your ambitions. Last but certainly not least, you have a passion for infrastructure technology!

What do we offer you as a Trainee?
To be able to complete your traineeship properly, the foundation must also be solid. We therefore offer you good employment conditions in accordance with the CAO Bouw & Infra. Furthermore, you will of course receive a laptop, phone, and car from the company and sufficient time to relax with no less than 40 vacation days based on full-time employment. Your opportunities at KWS do not stop after this traineeship, because after completion, we want you to continue your career at KWS. To project that confidence, we will offer you a permanent contract immediately!
