Requirements

What we're looking for

  • HBO (Higher Professional Education) level of working and thinking;
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience within networking and/or cyber security;
  • Experience with designing and implementing Next Generation Firewalls;
  • Demonstrable experience with Fortinet and/or Cisco Security;
  • Experience with complex enterprise network and security environments;
  • Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, NAC, IPS, and WAF;
  • Strong communication skills towards clients and technical stakeholders;
  • A proactive attitude and the ambition to continue developing yourself technically.

The role

As a Technical Fortinet Consultant, you are the link between business, cyber security, and technology. You help organizations increase their digital resilience by making risks transparent, designing security architectures, and actually implementing security solutions.

What distinguishes this role from many traditional consultancy positions is that you stay close to the technology. You spend approximately half of your time implementing security solutions. Additionally, you work on technical designs, security assessments, workshops, architecture issues, client advice, and presales.

Especially when you want to further develop yourself within Fortinet, our environment offers a lot of technical depth. Due to our Fortinet EPSP status, we have access to specialist knowledge and support from Fortinet, and our consultants can collaborate with Fortinet Professional Services regarding security implementations. The EPSP program offers specialized training, Fortinet support, and best-practice methodologies for this purpose.

At the same time, you work broader than Fortinet alone. Within our client environments, you will encounter issues surrounding Cisco Security, Next Generation Firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), Identity & Access Management (IAM), Zero Trust, SASE, SD-WAN, SIEM, and Cyber Resilience. This allows you to deepen your expertise as a Fortinet Security Consultant and broaden your scope as a technical consultant.

You are given a lot of freedom to deploy your expertise and further assist clients. In doing so, we do not expect you to only execute what has been pre-conceived. It is precisely your technical knowledge that we use to improve designs, advise clients, and arrive together at the best possible security solution.

What you'll do

  • Advising on cyber security strategies and security architectures;
  • Designing, implementing, and optimizing Fortinet and Cisco security solutions;
  • Performing security assessments, risk analyses, and technical reviews;
  • Implementing NGFW, NAC, IAM, SIEM, IPS, and WAF solutions;
  • Guiding security improvement projects and complex implementations;
  • Providing knowledge sessions, workshops, and client presentations;
  • Translating new security technologies and vendor developments into concrete solutions and services.

Further develop yourself as a Fortinet Security Consultant

Do you already have experience with Fortinet and want to go deeper technically? Then our EPSP status offers you an environment in which you can further develop your knowledge regarding professional Fortinet services and complex security implementations.

The Fortinet Engage Preferred Services Partner program is specifically aimed at expert partners with demonstrable capacity and experience in service delivery. EPSP-designated engineers gain access to technical documentation, deployment information, and other knowledge from the EPSP community. Additionally, the program offers specialized training and opportunities to collaborate with Fortinet Professional Services.

For you, this means that you not only work with Fortinet technology, but that you can further develop yourself in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced Fortinet security solutions. At the same time, you work with other security vendors and continuously build up more consultancy and architecture experience.

You recognize yourself in this if

You are an experienced security professional who wants to combine technical depth with consultancy. Perhaps you already work as a Technical Security Consultant, but it could also be that you are currently a Senior Security Engineer or Fortinet Engineer and are ready for a next step in which designing, advising, and client contact play a larger role.

For example, you have experience as a:

  • Technical Security Consultant;
  • Fortinet Consultant;
  • Fortinet Security Engineer;
  • Security Consultant;
  • Senior Security Engineer;
  • Cyber Security Consultant;
  • Network Security Engineer;
  • Security Specialist.

In addition, you possess:

An advanced Fortinet certification, Cisco CCNP Security, or comparable certification is a strong plus. Are you currently working mainly as an experienced Security Engineer or Fortinet Engineer and want to make the step to consultancy? Even then, we would love to get in touch with you.

At Axians, we help organizations increase their digital resilience. We advise on security issues and help clients with designing, implementing, and optimizing secure IT environments. Our clients are diverse: from government and healthcare to industry and large enterprise organizations where continuity and information security are essential.

Within our Cyber Security Business Unit, we combine consultancy with technical depth. We work with various security technologies, where Cisco and Fortinet are important technology partners. As a Cisco Gold Partner and Fortinet Expert Partner, we have access to specialist knowledge and expertise within both ecosystems. Our Fortinet EPSP status goes one step further in this regard and gives our consultants access to specialist knowledge and support regarding professional Fortinet services and complex implementations.

Within this environment, you will join a team of thirteen security specialists: six consultants, three architects, and four engineers. Fortinet and Cisco form an important technical foundation, but the team also possesses knowledge of other security technologies and domains such as Checkpoint, Infoblox, and F5. Because of this, there is almost always a colleague to brainstorm with regarding a complex design, implementation, or architecture issue.

What characterizes our team is that sharing knowledge is a matter of course. We find each other easily, discuss new developments, and help each other further with technical challenges. At the same time, you get plenty of room to further expand your own expertise. Do you want to further specialize in Fortinet, broaden yourself towards other security technologies, or eventually grow towards architecture? Then we will look together at how we can fulfill that.

In addition, we combine the technical challenge of consultancy with a healthy work-life balance. You get a lot of freedom and responsibility in your work, without flexibility or personal development being lost from sight. In this way, you not only work on the cyber security of our clients, but simultaneously continue to build your own expertise and future within Axians.

As a Technical Security Consultant, you combine technical depth with consultancy. You advise clients on complex security issues, work out solutions technically, and are personally involved in the implementation. In doing so, you work extensively with technology from Fortinet and Cisco and get the space to further develop yourself as both a specialist and a consultant.

Do you want to further develop yourself within Fortinet? Then we can offer you something special. Axians holds the Fortinet Engage Preferred Services Partner (EPSP) status. EPSP is a program for qualified expert partners with demonstrable knowledge and experience in professional security services. For our consultants, this means access to specialized Fortinet training, technical support, and collaboration with Fortinet Professional Services regarding complex implementations and best-practice methodologies.

Additionally, we offer:

  • A salary, tailored to your knowledge and experience, between € 5,000 and € 6,500;
  • 8% holiday allowance;
  • An annual bonus of up to two calendar months' salary based on personal objectives;
  • 25 vacation days with the possibility to accrue more days;
  • A premium-free pension scheme;
  • Lease car or mobility budget;
  • The possibility to make use of our Lease a Bike scheme;
  • Company laptop and phone;
  • Plenty of room for training, certifications, and personal development;
  • Specialist colleagues to brainstorm with;
  • Growth opportunities towards Senior Consultant, Solution Architect, or Security Architect;
  • Unlimited access to OpenUp for support in the area of mental health and well-being.

We find it important that colleagues can develop both professionally and personally. Therefore, we continuously invest in knowledge sharing, certifications, and a work environment in which physical and emotional safety are central. Additionally, we work hybrid: the team typically works together two days per week from our office in Capelle aan den IJssel. For the remaining days, you largely determine for yourself where you work. Whether that is at home, in the office, or at a client's location.
