The role
Help build complex enterprise network and security environments
As a Network Security Engineer at Axians, you step into a world where technology never stands still. Our customers, from hospitals to government institutions and large enterprises, rely on complex, modern, and mission-critical networks.
As an engineer, you work at the heart of these infrastructures. You are involved in analyzing, optimizing, and further developing network and security environments where availability, performance, and security are crucial.
This is a role in which you dive deep into technology: from complex troubleshooting to structural improvements and automation of network and security processes. You have a direct influence on the quality, stability, and future-proofing of our services.
Your role as a Network Security Engineer
In this position, you work daily on complex enterprise networking and security environments. You are involved in both incident analysis as well as structural improvements and engineering challenges within existing and new infrastructures.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- In-depth troubleshooting of network and security incidents;
- Engineering and optimization of network and security environments;
- Firewalling and network security within enterprise environments;
- Routing and switching challenges (including BGP and OSPF);
- SD-WAN environments and network segmentation;
- Security hardening and performance optimizations;
- Automation of network and security processes with tools such as Ansible, Python, and Git;
- Contributing to standardization and Infrastructure as Code;
- Executing changes and preparing implementations;
- Root cause analyses and structural improvements;
- Collaborating with consultants, architects, and other engineers.
You do not only work reactively, but precisely also proactively on improvements and innovation of the environments for which you are responsible.
Technologies and environments
Within this role, you work with, among others:
- Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
- Check Point

- Automation tooling such as Ansible, Python, and Git
Are you currently working mainly with one of these platforms? Then we would also love to meet you. We believe that a strong foundation in networking and security is more important than experience with all technologies at once.
You recognize yourself in this if
