Mechatronics Engineer Tooling & Automation

The role

As a Mechatronics Engineer Tooling & Automation, you will work with engineers, assembly specialists, and other internal stakeholders on multidisciplinary challenges. You form the link between engineering and production, combining technical support on the shop floor with the design and realization of assembly, qualification, and test tooling and automation.

You are responsible for developing and adapting mechanical, electrical, and software designs and realizing solutions for NPI, industrialization, and production improvement. In doing so, you collaborate with various disciplines to ensure manufacturability, quality, safety, and standardization. Your role is intentionally hybrid: you work both at the drawing board and hands-on in practice.

• Developing and realizing assembly, test, and qualification tooling and automation (including PLC cabinets, IO test tools, and supporting electrical aids)
• Designing and adapting electrical schematics and documentation
• Creating and managing CAD drawings of assemblies and parts
• Developing control software for PLC cabinets, IO test tools, and other tooling
• Developing user-friendly GUI/HMI solutions for assembly and test processes
• Supporting NPI construction phases, industrialization, and production improvements
• Realizing, implementing, and qualifying technical solutions
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues
• Supporting assembly, including in cleanroom environments

• Technical point of contact for tooling, automation, and test solutions within the factory
• Contributing to the standardization and improvement of tooling, processes, and working methods
• Actively thinking along regarding quality, safety, manufacturability, and applicability

Your strength

• You possess a technical MBO+ or HBO education in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
• You have knowledge of sensors, actuators, PLCs, cabling, and electrical safety
• You have an affinity for hardware and can translate signals into visual software solutions
• You have experience with control software, for example Beckhoff TwinCAT and C/C++
• You have experience with software development, for example C#/.NET or Python/Qt
• You can read technical drawings and preferably have experience with Siemens NX, EPLAN, or similar software
• You can translate needs from the factory into concrete technical concepts and solutions
• Experience with high-tech machine building, Robotics/Vision, and CE is a plus
