The role

Within the semiconductor industry, a strong development is currently taking place in the field of sustainability. As an important supplier in this chain, VDL ETG has an active sustainability policy based on the themes of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). In doing so, we not only comply with the requirements of laws and regulations and the VDL Group, but also with the high expectations of our international customers.

To support the various VDL ETG companies in the implementation of this policy, a central sustainability team is active. This team translates complex legislation and customer requirements into practical guidelines that are applicable within the organization. Additionally, the team provides support for reporting, training, and knowledge exchange between the various locations.

To strengthen this team, we are looking for a Compliancy Engineer Sustainability. In this role, you are responsible for monitoring developments within sustainability legislation and customer requirements, and you ensure that these are translated into concrete actions within the organization. You are the connecting link between compliance, sustainability, and daily practice. Your activities include:

• Co-shaping the sustainability program of VDL ETG in collaboration with the various locations and the team leader.
• Translating new and amended laws and regulations into concrete and practically executable actions within the organization.
• Identifying developments in the field of ESG legislation and compliance and advising on their impact on VDL ETG.
• Supporting initiatives in the field of ESG:
• Environment: energy consumption, CO₂ reduction, and waste reduction.
• Social: safety, working conditions, and employee well-being.
• Governance: business ethics, business continuity, and supply chain responsibility.
• Aligning with and supporting various VDL ETG locations in the implementation of sustainability requirements.
• Providing training and knowledge sharing regarding sustainability and compliance.
• Maintaining contacts with customers regarding sustainability requirements, progress, and reporting.
• Coordinating customer reports in the field of sustainability and compliance for VDL ETG-wide customers.
• Acting as a point of contact towards VDL Group for sustainability issues with a strong focus on compliance.
• Collaborating with, among others, the Energy & Climate Advisor and the ESG Reporting Manager of VDL Group.
• Exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices with other VDL ETG companies.

You are analytically strong and get energy from understanding and applying complex laws and regulations. You can switch well between different stakeholders and know how to translate theoretical frameworks into workable solutions for practice.
