Requirements

What we're looking for

HBO or WO level of professional and intellectual capacity and at least 5 years of relevant experience within Business Intelligence or Data Engineering
Experience with setting up and managing BI data platforms
Experience with SQL Server (T-SQL), Power BI, and Power Query
Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes

Nice to have

Experience with Power Automate and Excel is a plus
Experience with ERP systems such as Infor LN or BaaN is a plus

The role

In the coming years, VDL ETG will replace the current ERP system BaaN IV with Infor LN. Our operating companies in the Netherlands, but also in Switzerland, Singapore, China, and Vietnam, are transitioning to this new platform in phases. Within the Supply Chain Management / Digitalization department, you will play an important role as a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in both the implementation and the future management of the BI environment.

You are responsible for unlocking, structuring, and visualizing data from various business processes. Additionally, you help the organization further digitalize by automating processes with Power Automate and AI solutions such as Copilot.

What you'll do

You will join a small and dedicated team of Business Intelligence Engineers and application administrators. In doing so, you will work closely with colleagues from VDL IT, the Business Improvement Support Team, and various local stakeholders. Your activities include:

Collecting, integrating, and unlocking data from various systems such as ERP, MES, and Jungheinrich WMS
Setting up, managing, and optimizing data models and data flows
Developing and maintaining database views and SQL solutions
Ensuring data quality, reliability, and consistency
Analyzing data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement
Developing, maintaining, and optimizing dashboards and reports in Power BI
Translating business questions into smart data solutions
Automating business processes using Power Automate
