How do you keep the Netherlands running? As a National Operational Planner, you are co-responsible for strengthening and optimizing the electricity grid, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable and sustainable energy. You will be working in the Operational Planning team, consisting of 13 colleagues. Together, you will work on the preparations for tomorrow in the areas of system, market, and transport, an essential task for a stable and sustainable energy supply. Within our team, an open, safe, and collegial working atmosphere prevails, in which innovation and collaboration are central.
The energy transition requires smart, decisive professionals. In Operational Planning, we work daily on the preparation of an N-1 secure grid, the coordination of available transport capacity to the market, and the market coupling in Northwest Europe so that the Netherlands can also rely on a reliable electricity grid tomorrow.
During shifts, you will work in a secure environment, where you are responsible for monitoring daily, time-critical processes, and timely adjusting/intervening/informing all stakeholders so that ultimately everything is in place to enable undisturbed operations of the high-voltage grid within agreed frameworks for the following day. Good preparation is the basis for this. To prepare you for practice, you will be assigned a buddy; together with your buddy, you will go through an extensive induction program that ensures you build the necessary knowledge to be able to execute the processes. In this, you will work closely with operations, our connected parties, market participants, and neighboring TSOs.
The work of a National Operational Planner continues 365 days a year. The activities are currently carried out from 08:00 - 16:00, but in the (near) future, an afternoon shift (15:00-23:00) may be added alongside this. Additionally, you are expected to work a weekend shift at least once every 5 weeks, plus have a reserve shift once every 5 weeks, and you may be scheduled on public holidays. This is offset by an irregularity allowance of 8.1%, which will be higher in the event of a future afternoon shift. On days when you do not have a shift, you determine your own working hours and can work partly from home. The team you will work in is very flexible, which allows for a pleasant work-life balance.
Furthermore, you are also responsible for, among other things:

Within Operational Planning, we are looking for a new colleague who is seeking a dynamic working environment. In doing so, we are looking for someone who is eager to learn and stress-resistant, possesses good communication skills, and places a high value on collaboration. Whether you are experienced or not, the team ensures that you are well prepared and quickly become familiar with the processes and working environment. This concerns a crucial role at the intersection of system integrity, market forces, and international coordination.
TenneT offers you the chance to contribute to a sustainable energy future. Together with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you will work on innovative solutions that make the energy transition possible. With us, you will get the space to develop your talent and work in an environment where your growth is central. We encourage initiative and give you the space to come up with new ideas.
