The role

As a volunteer, you are someone who is friendly and seeks connection in contact with others. As a companionship volunteer, you will go out a few times a month with a female resident. She is 62 years old and lives independently in a sheltered housing location in Veenendaal. Someone who truly enjoys the little things in life and would love to undertake low-threshold activities together with you.

What you'll do

What will you do?

As a volunteer, you will undertake an activity together outdoors or near the location. Think of:

Having a cup of coffee on a terrace
A walk in the neighborhood
Baking something together
When it is not possible to go outside: a quiet indoor activity such as a game (e.g., Rummikub)
Or another activity in consultation

You will work at the Van Schuppenstraat location, an apartment complex in a residential area in Veenendaal, providing mostly long-term care within the WLZ. The target group of this location consists of 30 adult clients with various psychological and psychiatric vulnerabilities. The clients live in single-person apartments.
