What we're looking for

  • HBO (Higher Professional Education) working and thinking level, preferably technical or scientific.
  • Experience within Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or quality systems.
  • Experience within an ISO-certified environment.

Nice to have

The role

Through STERIS's global network of sterilization and testing facilities, millions of medical devices are made safely available to patients every year. Behind each of these products stands a meticulous quality process in which quality, safety, and compliance are central.

As a Quality Engineer at STERIS AST, you play an important role in this. You investigate deviations, analyze data, support improvement projects, and make quality decisions within a highly regulated environment. In this way, you contribute directly to the reliability and safety of medical products used worldwide.

As a Quality Engineer, you ensure that quality is not only guaranteed but also continuously improved. You investigate deviations, support improvement projects, and advise colleagues on quality and compliance issues. In doing so, you work together with, among others, Operations, Validation, Customers, suppliers, and colleagues from other STERIS locations, both nationally and internationally.

You have an independent role with a lot of responsibility. You support the assessment of deviations, product and process releases, and with your analyses, you make an important contribution to quality improvements. You are given the space to make independent decisions within a highly regulated environment in which standards such as ISO 13485, ISO 11137, and GMP guidelines guide our daily work.

What you'll do

  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Take the lead in improvement projects regarding Change Control, risk management, and supplier quality.
  • Perform and supervise investigations into non-conformities, complaints, and CAPAs.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and translate them into concrete actions.
  • Support audits and contribute to the further development of quality standards.
  • Contribute to compliance, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess and release processing runs and dossiers containing deviations.

You work independently, possess strong analytical skills, and feel comfortable in an environment where quality, technology, and customer contact converge. Additionally, you are accurate, result-oriented, and know how to switch effortlessly between different interests and stakeholders.
