What you'll get

All financial employment conditions at a glance, so you know exactly what to expect:

  • A gross monthly salary of up to € 5,000 (based on 40 hours) in day shifts, 24.5 vacation days, and pension accrual with ABP, where we pay 70% of the premium. After obtaining your certification, you can grow to a maximum of € 5,600 gross per month (based on 40 hours).
  • On top of your salary, you receive a personal budget of 24% (including 8% holiday allowance). You choose what to do with the budget: for example, extra salary or (up to max. 35.5) vacation days. You can see how it works in our calculation tool.
  • An annual € 700 (gross) sustainable employability budget to spend on your own energy, for example, for your sports membership.

On top of that, there is this:

  • You travel to the office using the public transport-free scheme. That is a public transport card that you can also use in your free time. Or with the flexible travel scheme, where you choose, combine, and vary how you travel to work yourself and receive an extra allowance if you come by bicycle.
  • Your development is central: attending events with colleagues, participating in knowledge sessions, and following courses and training. This is how you get the best out of yourself.
  • You work 100% at our head office in Rotterdam, with modern office facilities and a good working atmosphere.

The role

Do you want to contribute to a sustainable future? Become a gas operations specialist and ensure a reliable gas grid during the energy transition. Apply today!

Why working at Stedin gives you energy:

  • Your work combines technology, coordination, and strategy, with a new challenge every day.
  • You keep the gas grid running and future-proof: from resolving outages to collaborating on projects in the energy transition.
  • You keep a cool head, not because you have to, but because we provide structure and support for every challenge.

As a gas operations specialist at the Operations Center in Rotterdam, you ensure a reliable gas grid, even in the midst of the energy transition. Districts moving away from natural gas and the development of new biogas plants: these are the types of challenges you deal with daily. Together with your team, you keep the gas grid stable and ready for the future. In this way, you make a direct contribution to a living environment full of new energy.

What you'll do

A day as a gas operations specialist:

  • You start your day in the Operations Center and discuss with colleagues which activities are planned on the gas grid this week. You assess whether these can be carried out safely and grant permission.
  • A report of an outage comes in. You immediately communicate with field colleagues, coordinate actions, and ensure that problems are resolved as quickly as possible. Where necessary, you shut down parts of the grid and then bring them back into operation.
  • Between reports, you focus on the long term and work on projects to improve work processes, so that the grid remains future-proof.
  • You are in contact with various colleagues in the field and continuously monitor the overview of the status of the gas grid.
  • When you first start in this role, you will receive intensive guidance and an internal internship. Even after that, there are plenty of opportunities to further develop yourself.

With these qualities, you will grow here

In this role, it is important that you continue to perform well under pressure. During outages, action must be taken quickly and carefully. You keep a cool head, maintain an overview, and bring calm during crucial moments. Thanks to your experience, you understand exactly what is happening in the field and can effectively direct colleagues.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A completed technical MBO level 3 education. Internally, you can also complete a level 4 education.
  • Experience as a first-line technician, technical specialist, process operator, or supervisor, which means you know well what field colleagues do.
  • Knowledge of gas technology.

Take the step to your next challenge

We look forward to meeting you.

This is also good to know:

  • A live assessment is part of the selection process.
