The role
What will you do?
Are you an experienced insulator, or do you want to learn a new trade in sustainable energy as a starter or career changer? Siers is looking for a District Heating Insulator for the Oldenzaal region. You will work from our work area in Twente and the surrounding region. Siers is a family business in underground infrastructure. We ensure that households and businesses are connected to district heating, also known as city heat or a heat network.
What does a district heating insulator do?
A district heating insulator, also known as an insulation technician, ensures that the pipes of a heat network are properly insulated. Heat pipes are usually pre-insulated, but in the places where pipe sections have been welded together, the insulation is still missing. There, the insulator applies an insulation sleeve and seals it watertight, for example with a shrink sleeve or tape sleeve. This keeps the hot water at temperature and protects the pipe against moisture. In addition, many heat pipes have a leak detection system in the insulation. Through measurements, the insulator detects moisture or leaks.
Your work at Siers
Together with a close-knit team of fellow technicians, you will work on large projects. You are responsible for ensuring that existing and new pipes receive the correct insulation material. Additionally, you perform leak detection measurements and consult with your colleagues on how to resolve any leaks found. You also enjoy taking on other supporting tasks.
Does this suit you?
You are solution-oriented and eager to learn, you can work independently, and you are not afraid of hard work. Do you already know terms such as insulation sleeve, tape sleeve, shrink sleeve, PE-HD plastic welding, and Shrink Joint Installation? Then that works in your favor. Are they new to you? Then we are very curious to see if you would like to learn this. #WerkpleSiers
