This job advert was originally written in Dutch.
Most technicians in the Netherlands are still replacing boilers today that won't even exist in ten years.
Are you a plumber, service technician, or heating engineer? With us, you will transition to the technology that is replacing them. Experience with heat pumps is not required; we will teach you. What you must bring is your intuition for piping. No on-call service, a fully equipped van, and your workday begins the moment you step in.
Did you know that we design our own heat pumps? With a team of around sixty people, we design them, assemble them in Utrecht, and install them ourselves. For homeowners throughout the Netherlands and, as of this year, also in Germany. Last year, our Pomp MP became the first heat pump ever to win both the iF Design Award Gold and the Red Dot.
Every week, dozens of homes go off gas. The goal is 10% of all Dutch homes, approximately 800,000 houses. The demand is there and the product is ready. The bottleneck is how quickly we can deliver.
That won't happen without you as a service technician.
Maintenance of our heat pumps
Resolving faults that the service team could not fix remotely
Inspecting and optimizing installations
Explaining to customers what is happening, in plain language
Providing feedback on what you see in the field, so the product can be improved
About half of the faults are within our own heat pump, either hydraulic or electrical. The other half is in the home installation. We didn't install a radiator that won't get warm, but we don't turn the customer away. We solve that too.
No on-call service. No standby duty. Travel time is working time. And you choose between thirteen ADV days (reduction of working hours days) or a higher monthly salary.
Our service team in the office resolves about nine out of ten reports remotely and plans your week. You drive to the customers where someone truly needs to visit. You won't get a phone call at eight o'clock in the evening.
If you get stuck at a customer's location, our specialists will join via phone and look at it with you. They are our employees, so you have them on the line within a minute. No half-hour wait on hold with a boiler brand that has no interest in having your fault resolved today. We have the same goal as you, so we skip that step.
If someone is without hot water during the weekend, we call in a heating engineer and pay for it ourselves. Furthermore, our heat pump boiler has an electric element, so no one is left in the cold.
You work independently from your van, but you are part of a service team and have short lines of communication with the warehouse and product development.
In two years, you will know these systems better than almost anyone in this country, simply because there are still very few people working on them daily. That is a position you hold in your own hands, and one that will only become more valuable.
Additionally: because we make the product ourselves, what you see in the field goes directly to the engineers. You don't just resolve faults; you ensure they don't occur next time.
A few years of experience as a plumber, service technician, fault technician, W installation technician, heating engineer, or mechanical installation technician
Or a technical MBO education with the associated practical experience. We are not looking for starters
Experience with piping. That is the only thing we cannot teach you in a few months. We will teach you the electrical side and our own heat pumps
Driving license B
Dutch or English, sufficient to explain to a customer what is happening
Eagerness to master a new technology
At the customer's, you are DeWarmte. Someone must be happy when you walk in and feel: "this person is going to solve it for me." And because we are growing fast, the situation on-site is not always as it appears on your work order. Sometimes the customer wants something extra, sometimes the preparation is incomplete. In those cases, you look for a solution instead of someone to blame.

We are currently looking for reinforcement in the Zwolle, Apeldoorn, and Deventer triangle. If you live nearby, we will set up a supply point in your region so you don't always have to go to Utrecht.
- € 3,000 to € 5,000 gross per month, depending on your experience
- A 38-hour work week, or 40 hours with thirteen ADV days. You choose
- Part-time is also possible, from 24 hours per week
- 25 vacation days for full-time, plus 8% holiday allowance which we pay out monthly
- A fully equipped company van, laptop, and phone
- Travel time is working time, from the moment you step in
- Education and training until you are a specialist in heat pumps
- Participation in our SAR program and joining the annual winter trip
You will join the service team of Lars Steverink, Head of Service. He started at DeWarmte five years ago when the company consisted of four people and built up the service organization. You will work daily with the service coordination in The Hague who plans your route, with the warehouse in Utrecht, and with the engineers who design the heat pumps.
We are currently hiring about four people per month, and the teams we are building now must be ready for the peak at the end of the year. If you respond this week, you will still be considered.
Call or WhatsApp Marvin at 06 1111 9775, or send your CV. A motivation letter is not required.
An introductory meeting of half an hour. After that, you will visit us, including in Utrecht where the heat pumps are assembled and tested.
Within five working days, you will know where you stand.
