Challenging job as an Incoming Welding Inspector

SGS Industrial is involved in various technical inspections of industrial equipment. The NDT department inspects and tests technical installations. From above-ground storage tanks to pipelines, from supervising the new construction of factories to inspections during plant shutdowns. Our NDT employees examine critical weld joints and determine wall thickness measurements in structures, plate, or pipe material.

Our important clients can be found in petrochemistry, in the construction of offshore platforms and pipelines, structural construction, piping construction, storage terminals, and general industry.

Do you have a completed MBO-3/4 education and are you looking for an organization that invests in you to develop you into a certified and fully qualified Welding Inspector/NDT technician? Then this is your chance! Your potential training program looks like this:

• During your first year, you will start in the Assistant position and follow MT2, PT2, and Radiation Safety training;
• In the second and third year, you will grow into a Junior Welding Inspector and follow VT and RT training;
• From the fourth year onwards, you will grow to a medior level and we will look at the further course of your personal development, whereby advanced NDT techniques can also be achieved, such as ToFD2 and Phased Array2 (but other possibilities are also being offered in development).

With every new certificate obtained, your salary will increase. Naturally, a specific and appropriate training and development track will be coordinated with you that fits your education level and desired path.

After completing this training program and gaining the necessary work experience, you will eventually be able to:

• Perform welding inspections using non-destructive material testing (X-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant & magnetic);
• Report the inspection findings resulting from the inspection;
• Communicate on-site with the customer about your inspection findings;
• Ensure a safe way of working in a often complex working environment;
• Conduct yourself professionally and be alert to new potential customers.

• In possession of a diploma at MBO-3/4 level (preferably technical)
• Possess a VCA certificate or be willing to obtain it (again);
• You do not mind working irregular hours (not a 8 to 17:00 job);
• In possession of a B driver's license.

• Salary between € 2400 to € 4250 gross per month, depending on your experience and whether you perhaps already have certificates that make you immediately deployable.
