What will you do?
As a declarant, you are responsible for handling customs formalities for a wide variety of products and complexity levels. Think, among others, of perishable goods such as food, beverages, plants, fruit & vegetables or excise, origin, processing, waste, anti-dumping, CITES, temporary import, destruction, BTI application, consent, strategic, etc. No two days are the same with us!

A glimpse of your responsibilities:

• You assess the data provided by the clients for correctness and completeness, including authorizations, VAT deferment, etc.
• If necessary, you communicate with the client, customs, or other departments of SGS Maco regarding the (submitted) declarations.
• You prepare all occurring customs declarations.
• You ensure the correct, complete, and timely archiving of the submitted declarations.
• You ensure that your knowledge of customs legislation, procedures, permits, and all occurring types of customs and related declarations is kept up to date and at the required level.

Will you take on this challenge?
To be able to perform the function of declarant well, you have completed the professional training for declarants or have demonstrable work experience as a declarant. Ideally, you supplement this with knowledge of and experience with specific customs applications and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and Word).

What else is needed for this challenging position?

• You have knowledge of and experience with customs legislation, procedures, permits, and all occurring types of customs and related declarations.
• You have knowledge of and experience with commercial and logistical processes.
• You possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
• You master the Dutch and English languages; German is a plus.
• You are a ‘troubleshooter’ with a ‘getting things done’ mentality.
