With experience in scripting and configuration management tooling such as PowerShell, Ansible, DSC, Puppet, or Chef, you naturally think in terms of automation. You use code to eliminate repetitive work, simplify processes, and manage platforms in a consistent and scalable manner. You feel at home in an environment where code is preferred over manual management and have experience with Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM. Additionally, you take responsibility for what you build and remain curious about how systems behave in production.
At the same time, you look beyond your own specialty. You want to understand how infrastructure, networking, databases, security, deployments, and applications come together, and where there is room to further improve systems. Experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or VMWare, and security in mission-critical environments is a great addition. In environments where reliability, security, and continuity are essential, you feel at your best.
Building automation for systems that truly matter
At Schuberg Philis, we work on mission-critical IT: systems that are essential to our customers and simply must keep running. That requires engineers who are technically strong, love to automate, remain curious, and take responsibility for the entire chain, from application to underlying infrastructure.
We are looking for engineers who get energy from complex, business-critical environments and want to help build platforms that customers rely on daily. In a self-managing customer team, you design, build, run, and improve systems across the full breadth of the stack. You automate where possible, improve pipelines, and solve problems across multiple layers, so that platforms remain stable, secure, and reliable. No silos or handovers, but one team that takes collective responsibility for the result.
As a Mission-Critical Automation Engineer, you design, build, run, and improve platforms that are essential to our customers' daily operations. You automate everything that can be automated, solve complex problems across the full stack, and work closely with customer teams. End-to-end responsibility for stability, security, and reliability is a natural part of the role.
In practice, this includes:
You are an engineer who takes ownership of what you build and manage. You love diving into technical depths, but also understand how applications, infrastructure, and business processes converge. You prefer automation over manual work, enjoy collaborating with colleagues and customers, and continuously look for ways to make systems smarter, more stable, and better. Making an impact on business-critical platforms gives you energy.
You will join an environment where craftsmanship, ownership, and collaboration are central. Together with experienced engineers, you will work on business-critical systems, receive plenty of freedom to shape your work, and continue to develop yourself by collaborating daily with colleagues who love to share knowledge.
Do you feel at home in a mission-critical environment where stability, predictability, and quality are essential? Then we would love to get in touch with you!
