Mechanical Fitting Internship: Installation of Equipment

Royal IHC is looking for an intern starting in September for our Mechanical Fitting department.

Within the Mechanical Fitting department, Royal IHC is looking for a proactive intern who wants to develop within an innovative company and collaborate on the future of the maritime industry.

During this internship, under the guidance of specialists, you will work on and take responsibility for:

• Assembling mechanical components into complete units (such as pumps, filters, and appendages).
• Mounting tools, electrical components, and units on board ships.
• Checking, aligning, and correcting systems and installations (e.g., pump installations, fuel, lubricating oil, and cooling water systems, engines, etc.).
• Ensuring correct dimensions and fitting parts.
• Installing installations under supervision according to applicable requirements.
• Working safely according to safety and occupational health and safety regulations.

Our specialists will teach you the tricks of the trade.

• Education: You are in your second, third, or fourth year of a technical MBO program.
• Manual skills: You can assemble and fasten parts, process and fit components using hand tools, machines & measuring tools
• Language skills: You are proficient in both Dutch and English.
• Independence: You work accurately, have a proactive and eager-to-learn attitude & are not afraid to roll up your sleeves
• Interests: Mechanical engineering, hydraulics and materials, reading drawings and diagrams & the assembly sequence, operation, and adjustment of units and installations.
