This is a special opportunity to help shape the technological course of a leading international group. The position combines strategic influence with space for entrepreneurship and concrete execution.
The CTO can realize visible impact for more than 30 enterprises and contribute to the further digitalization and future-proofing of the international floriculture chain.
Dutch Flower Group (DFG) is an international family of more than 30 specialized enterprises that are collectively active within the international floriculture chain. The companies supply flowers, bouquets, and plants through various sales channels, including wholesale, retail, garden centers, and online sales channels.
Within DFG, local entrepreneurship and a strong individual identity are combined with the scale, knowledge, and impact of the group. Digitalization and data-driven working form one of the six strategic growth pillars towards 2030.
Dutch Flower Group is looking for a Chief Technology Officer to provide direction for the next phase of digitalization within the group. The CTO will be given the space to help shape the technological course towards 2030 and to visibly connect technology, data, and AI to the strategic and daily needs of the various DFG companies.
The CTO operates within a distinctly decentralized organization, in which companies differ in identity, market position, culture, and digital maturity. The mission is therefore not focused on centralization as an end in itself. Together with the companies, the CTO determines where collaboration, standardization, and joint investments add demonstrable value.
Above all, this requires a connecting and situationally strong CTO who knows how to bring together diverse stakeholders and interests. Someone who creates movement through substance, relationships, and trust, without constantly falling back on hierarchy, formal mandate, or escalation.
The CTO develops and realizes the multi-year agenda for IT, Digital & Data and translates technological developments into concrete commercial and operational value.
Within the decentralized structure of Dutch Flower Group, the CTO builds bridges between the companies, the central organization, and various disciplines. The CTO strengthens the connection between IT and the business, stimulates knowledge sharing and collaboration, and provides direction to choices regarding, among other things, architecture, ERP, cloud, applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and AI.
In addition, the CTO leads the further development of the IT organization and ensures that priorities align with the needs of customers and the various DFG companies. In the field of cybersecurity and continuity, the CTO has an explicit group-wide mandate.
